Thanks Mike! This was one of my early IPMS builds that did well in the chapter contests, so it is a sentimental favorite.

Wow, how far back was this? I wasn't aware that they had a raised-panel tooling of this kit.

I never get it why would they paint loud color stripes on their fighters so it made things easier for the enemies to locate them?!?

Hahaha...I don't want the raised lines! I've got the recessed lines kit already. 😂

Fat little bird. Nice job... now I need a George for my ever growing Japanese family.

These aircraft have been an interest of mine for a long time. Having a HARD hitting punch with its four 20mm cannon in an aircraft that was rugged yet still managed to maneuver well was a force to be reckoned with. Beautiful looking George there Carlos!!

Many thanks guys!
Andy, the stripes are ID markings for leaders. The squadron and flight leaders had stripes so that the rest of the unit could form up on them in flight.
TJ, I do think that I remember your build of the George from elsewhere.
John, the George was a heavyweight, not like the Zero at all.
Joe, they sure were a force to be reckoned with. Japan’s answer to the Hellcat and Corsair.
Buddho, I do agree!

For an older kit you put a really sharp shine on it. Really nicely done. These were indeed formidable fighters with some cool markings.

Thank you Joe. I do have a soft spot for the older kits.
