The Duke's Shipyards Launches Two More in June

Having found a bit more time, I managed to finally get these two over the finish line. First is the ancient Airfix kit if the Vospers 73' Motor Torpedo Boat:











Yes, the rigging is a bit over scale, but it's the finest styrene rod I could find I was breaking things too much trying to use thread. It's done so....


On to the second one, the Revell S-100 Schnellboot. This is a more modern kit but it still gave me issues. It is finally done too:













That's the latest two I have finished. Just for fun, here's my entire 1/72 scale motor boat collection to date. I have at least three more in progress:

Another great finish Mark! But now I have to remark… No PT-109?! Either the classic Revell kit or the new retool version? Hard to believe my friend!

The Vosper looks good, but that Schnellboot… gorgeous!!!

Thank you Carlos! Yes, I have the Revell PT-109 under construction now as we speak. I even bought a small jeep with 37mm cannon so I could add the cannon to the boat like JFK's crew did. If you recall; the POT-109 was supposed to be my 12-hour challenge build. I failed miserably though the payoff for that was excellent! That is one of three more boats under construction; the other two are the Vospers Perkasa and the PT-15 Japanese torpedo boat. No, I don't have the Airfix Schnellboot; I doubt I'll get it though since I have this one.

Mark, if you ever get the chance, pick up the Airfix Schnellboot kit as well. It’s a different Class of boat than the Revell kit, so it wouldn’t be a double up. Kind of like building a Panzer III and a Panzer IV, both are medium tanks, but different from one another. I built the Airfix Schnellboot ages ago, and remember that I really like the kit.

Beautiful stuff.
That rigging is a pain. If you can, grab some ez line. Made my rigging life much better, less stressful lol
+1 to the Airfix Snellboat suggestion. I have one and the plastic is lovely stuff!
