So I’ve had a 1/32 Hog in the stash since Vegas NATS. Got a great deal on it, so good that i was thinking of just doing a what-if Coast Guard theme…and then this arrives Books get you excited and psyched up about things you weren’t planning to do and ALL OF A SUDDEN plams change. I find myself thinking about doing all the crazy work it would take to make the horrible Trumpeter A-10 into a good looking representation of a Warthog! Crazy i know. How did it happen? I can only blame the BOOK!

I’ve had that very same thing happen multiple times. If it ain’t a book then I’ll see something in real like that makes me think…….”Hey……I can do that!!”. Lololol

Is the Trumpeter A10 really that bad? I'm no aircraft expert, so I would like to hear more about?

Happens all the time to me...I call it " Squirrel" probably why my stash is so big. I have heard horror stories of the Trumpeter A-10, mostly fit issues and soft detail. If anybody can wrestle that kit into a tamed pig it will be you Chris.

I have all of Jake's books. They're a must have reference.

Get the new Academy A-10. It’s supposed to be a real winner.

That's too bad. Trumpeter, despite their reputation for over engineering, still manages to put some good kits together. And for the money that they charge for their kits you'd think you'd get a better product. I'll say it again though.....the new Academy 1/48 A-10 is supposed to be all that. I've talked to a couple of guys that said that they are HIGHLY impressed with what they've seen so far.

Regardless, their AH-1Z was great and their f/a-18 as well. Could be good…hmmm, sounds lke another purchase in the wings. You guys may see a few things from me for sale shortly

Trumpeter has come A LONG WAY with their products. Past kits were hit or miss for quality, and being close to accurate. Over the years they've step up their game, however they have yet to re-tool any of those really sought after disasters...in any scale. Stop talking about the Acadamy A-10 dannit...gots my mouth all watering for one of them beasts....have 2 tamiyas in the stash.

It's funny, that I have exactly the same problem with books turning up....especially during the Covid lockdowns here in the UK..... Then just over a year ago my wife decided that the book case was overcrowded and so suggested I buy a new one..... Personally I thought it was very well organised and strategically balanced......but who was I to argue. So it went from this (sorry it's a bit blurry).......... To this....albeit it does now a few more books on it now......not to mention several boxes worth in the loft from years ago!
