Lookin' pretty sharp with that flathead V-8 JR!! Love the colors and details. What look are you going for with this one. Stock stance and ride height or lowered?

Thanks, Joe and Lee! I appreciate your comments! I'm just going with the A version in the instructions which is a supposed custom version. Finished the interior. I swapped the positions of the door handles and window cranks in order to give the window cranks enough room to rotate and to provide more leverage for door opening. I know this is not how they were manufactured but it made more sense to me. Polished out the fender unit, detailed the wood in the bed to look more like wood and added foil. I had a time getting the interior to shoe into the cab, don't know why, but there was a lot of sanding, thinning, scraping, and knashing of teeth but I finally got it in there square. Thanks for looking! 😎

Good LORD this is looking good JR! That shine is looking good on the paint and I’m really liking how that wood for the truck bed came out. Exceptional outcome so far!

I simply can’t believe that this is Krylon JR. it turned out too dang good!! Great results with putting the engine covers on as one unit too. I’ll be watchful for the wheel/ tire combo that you’ll be going with. That’ll just put the cherry on top of this beautiful truck.

Thanks, Joe! I appreciate your comment! I have a complication with this build and I need some advice. The front wheels, even with the skinny wheels and tires provided in the kit rub the front fender openings (See photos below). Here are my options in my opinion. Let me know if you have other ideas. Finish as is and don't worry about the rub or turning radius. Take out the dropped axle and use the stock axle which should provide more height and space between the wheel and the fender. Use some square tube to raise the fender unit off the frame and provide more space under the fender unit (front and back). Kind of a gasser look. Find another fender unit, like from a 32 Ford and do some major surgery. Use some dragster front wheels and fat tires in the back and use square tube to raise the back (big rake). Any other ideas?

Hey JR. Drill the hole in the wheel backing out ever so slightly to make it larger, actually oval. Then you can move the wheel on the axle up and down where you want it and then glue it into place. You'll have to have the model sitting on something like Lego blocks so you can get the correct stance and equal wheel positioning on the axles up front but this works for me.

I really dig the colors you have chosen for this. Yep, our 406 guy is one of the best person to answer your question.

Those look like they're gonna work great JR!! I can't really decide whether I like the white letters showing or not as both ways look really good. I will say that those wheels could benefit from a coat of Tamiya Smoke to bring out the detail and to set them off. Looks like you found your winner for wheel/ tire combo though.

Thanks, Joe, Lee, and John! I appreciate your comments! Its so simple but yet so difficult! I now have the wheels and tires glued on. Tires are inside the fenders and not rubbing. Front wheels would turn without rubbing, it seems to me, although it would be tight. These were the wheels I wanted to use all along, I just hadn't made the connection in my head with the extra set of tires I had in the extra kit. But now I'm there - whee! 😂

Thanks, Joe! I have to thank another modeler on another website for this idea. I had to go to Michaels to buy some chain but it worked out.

MAN....JR...that Truck is outstanding. I use Duplicolor and Kylon along with automotive paint all the time. Yours sure came out nice. Like the color combo....excellent choice. That bed and operational tailgate is the cat's MEOW! And the fix on the front wheels (and rear) is perfect. With those wheels...the white lettering looks GREAT!
