I really miss the whole AM lineup as they were state of the art kits some 25 years ago. This one sure is a good example of what those kits can turn out like. A beautiful build through and through Carlos. I built a 1/48 scale Hasegawa Dauntless in the late 90s just as the AM Dauntless were coming out . I remember taking my freshly built SBD to the show in Dallas and all of these AM Dauntless kits just appeared on the table. All eyes were glued on the AM offerings so any of the older kits didn’t stand a chance.

Thanks guys. I do miss this old build… 😢 As you can see, the landing gear took the full force of the stuff falling down onto the plane… and not well… (along with my IL-2) TJ, the Accurate Miniatures Allison Mustangs are fabulous kits. I sure love them. Joe, having both the Hasegawa and AM SBD kits in my stash, I can understand why your poor Hasegawa kit had a hard time against the competition. Hasegawa didn’t quite put their best effort into the kit, while Accurate did.
