Hi again guys, I’m still absorbed with working on the house and working at my job, but thought I’d post another of my past builds. This was the last ship I built after I got it for Christmas 2020. Finished it in 2021, too long ago! Anyhow, I used the intensive photo etch sheet that came with the kit. I had to purchase a second kit because I lost too many tiny pieces of the original/ I put it on my signature water and base. Just the 4 pics Thanks for the look

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about Steve! Every time I see one of your builds I am completely absorbed by the level of detail and innovation that I see. You manage to get the ship to look so darn realistic and that's not to mention the water works. What really dumbfounds me is the relative short amount of time that it takes to pull one of these detailed and lifelike builds off. I, for one, really-REALLY appreciate you taking the time to share this with us here.
Speaking of your house, how is that coming along these days? And how are YOU doing?

Hey buddy, thanks for looking. I can always count on you to boost my ego.
Seriously though, thanks for the complement. It wasn't as easy as you may think. It was one of the most difficult builds I've done believe it or not. Trumpeter puts a lot of VERY tiny pieces into this kit. This one, as small as it is, took me 4 months to complete, which was a long time for me at the time. I had to buy a wig to cover the hair I pulled out before it grew back.
I'm doing well, thanks for asking. My contracted job at Raytheon is still going along. They are goint through the process od hiring me on fultime though that will take a few months.
I'm off for a few days, which doesn't help on a contractor's budget without PTO, but that has given me a lot of time to complete some work I needed to do in the kitchen area. Leveling the joists in the floor, pulling the old ceiling, installing new insulation, updating the electrical, etc. All things I started this time last year but was sidetracked with other pressing matters to make the house livable. As soon as I pull the rock off the walls in the guest room and tear out the gust bath I can install new wiring, insulation and fixtures and MAY be ready for a rough inspection so I can finally get some sheetrock up. I won't bore you with all the stuff I've had to deal with. I was thinking of posting an ongoing thread of my progress, with before and after pics.

I’d really be interested in a thread on what you’ve got going on there Steve. I’ll end up learning a thing or two I’m sure

By the time you get your studio up and running Steve I'll be ready to build and mount a ship. Just suggesting putting in a spare room so I can learn how to make water from the Master. Great work my friend, also glad to see ya still bumming around with us..the Mob never forgets.

Absolutely fantastic build Steve. Your patience with this one really paid off in getting the details and look just right. It is always an incredible pleasure to look at your builds over and over. I am so glad you took the time to share this with us.
It is indeed very good to hear that you are doing well and that the job and house are all coming along. I for one will be quite overjoyed when you have things settled, the bench back up and that you are presenting us with your miraculous modeling skills. It is always so good to hear from and take care of yourself.

I was looking into resin floors, counter tops, walls etc. Doing a lot of study on the subject. Especially ocean scenes and blue veined marble

Man do I ever hear you on Trumpeter models being over engineered!! I built their 1/24 scale Bf109 kit and that thing was LOADED with extra parts!!! I've also dealt with being a contractor during holiday times for a client company. We used to have to take off two weeks during Christmas with only two of those days being paid and the whole week of Thanksgiving off with the one day being paid.. You learn REAL quick how to save up money during the year for the time off.

Steve, she's a real beauty! I still dont know where I stand on the two LCS class families in service and real life, but they do have a certain attractiveness to the eye. As usual, your work is simply outstanding.

Outstanding build! You nailed it to kept it from not being over weathered especially for modern ships. Love the water base! You should show us how to build it one day... thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks Guys,
Hey Stick! How's Arizona?
I know what you mean. If we keep decommissioning them, why do we keep building them. Just like the Feds, waste good money after bad.
They are kinda cool looking though. Make a heck of a yacht.
Defpanzer, the next ship I build I'll put up a WIP thread and explain it.
Speaking of, my girlfriend, now that here house is done, offered to let me use her sewing/art studio to set up a bench until I get my house to a place where I can set the workbench up for good.
She comes over here on the weekends and I visit her on Wednesdays. It won't be a lot of bench time, but anything is better than NO bench time.
