Hi guys, Just to prove that I build a lot of other stuff than ships, I wanted to show my Bandai AT-ST. It’s a great kit and really enjoyed building, er breaking it. A destroyed AT-ST that I envisioned was brought down by airpower. I crew got out, I guess, and the long derelict walker is now the home of renegades or some vagabond. I entered it Bandai/Hobbytown national contest and won 3rd. Since it was 2020, the build was judged on the pics. If I recall, the paint is Mission Models but the rust effects were created with oils. Yes, the base is suposed to be dirty with the dio extending beyond it.

I've always enjoyed the way you make these builds of yours so real looking. The wear and tear as well as the attention to detail is so off the charts that it's sometimes hard to know where to start in commenting on something like this. Rust & wear effects, broken parts, half buried sections along with either water or in this case mud are the things that set builds like this apart. If this one won 3rd then whoever took 1st or 2nd must have not been from this earth is all I can say pal.
A build all to its own Steve. Thank you for taking the time to share these builds of yours with us. I know you've got your hands full between work and home but you've been definitely missed around here brother.

Thanks again guys Stick, you may remember the next build I'm going to put up, or at least it's half way built at the moment. The 1/350 Rye Field M-ATV MRAP I was in the middle of it when I moved and it's been in a box ever since. it need a little work to bring it back to where it was but that'll be the first thing I get back to.

Now that.....I simply cannot wait to see. I saw that MRAP kit a couple of years ago and it just wowed me at all the possibilities it had to build and display it all opened up and super detailed. I'll be looking forward to seeing the thread on that one for sure Steve.

Thanks guys, I enjoyed showing it off. Didn't really expect to win anything just wanted it to inspire others.

Hey! It's a fossilised AT-ST! Now all you need are a bunch of paleontologists excavating it - that or the old "Time Team" crew...
Cheers,

I thought it was the best AT walker on the table at Nats, if they had a category just for those, you would have taken 1st place. Medicman's looked good as well, but this was such a unique take on the subject that it stood out from the competition.

Thanks guys. Your right Brian, a judge I talked to said he didn't see anything wrong with it except you can only see half of it, which is the point. If I had a figure with it I could have entered it with the Dios. There just isn't a category that it fits in.

It is so cool to see this yet again. This build of yours has always amazed me Steve. I'm taking it that this did not place at Nats.

You’d need at least 5 Jawas. Union rules & regs I’m afraid. What? A judge said you could only see half the model? What kind of comment is that? Or did he mean it was perfect, only thing was the judges could not see underneath it? It looked pretty dang good to me.

Well my walker should have been in the "Fictional" category cause it had markings that were not Star Wars.
