The old 1/48 Monogram OA-4M Skyhawk Hasegawa 1/72 F-16C Falcon Superscale decals Beautiful work on both of those Johnny! I do love me an F-16. I've not tipped over into the 1/72 scale realm just yet but believe me...... Joe Rix has been trying to get me into that scale for the last umpteen years now.

Jkim,
That Jet VTOL turned out… Ultra Nice! Did you paint the red areas? The nose looks too good to be a decal. Such an iconic Showa-Era piece of Ultraman hardware. Shwaa!!!

Testing the waters here on this new forum! I'm primarily an WW2 aircraft modeler but to celebrate the diversity of this particular thread, I'll share a couple of sci-fi projects that I've recently completed. 1/72 Hasegawa Jet VTOL (from Ultraman TV Show) with Akiko Fuji figure Bandai SDCS Shin Getter Robo... it looks like a pre-painted toy but everything here has been painted by me, including the green highlights and even the eyes. Great to see you here John! Interesting to see you build something aside from 1/32 aircraft! Very nice work here (as usual) 😉

Ok, here are my last 2 builds. This was build pretty much straight out of the box but with a bit of hidden butchery to lower it. The camper was scratch built. This was build as per the kit instructions just with my choice of paint colour and pinstriping.

I remember that 57 Chevy with the whole camper build Tim ( dean48ws). What an awesome build and a definite out of the ordinary combo. That bike looks "all that" as well.

Well that camper deal is especially awesome. And I love the weathering as well. Great work on both of those. I need to build more motorcycles. I’ve only ever done one

John, these are awesome, but you need to show your 1/32 aircraft!

That is stunning!! Amazing details throughout. Love the use of magnets so you can open and remove things. Thank you for sharing this beauty.

I don't have much free time, so unfortunately I can't follow everything that is being built. But now I have seen beautiful and special models and enjoy them.

Great weathering on that 57 Chevy! I personally think it is more difficult to pull off a convincing auto or motorcycle model than a WW2 aircraft so hats off to all of the vehicle model builders out there! Thanks for the warm welcome. Just in case anyone is interested in seeing what I primarily work on, here is one of my latest aircraft builds. This is the 1/32 Trumpeter P-47D Razorback kit that served with the 78th Fighter Group of the 84th Fighter Squadron based at Duxford England in 1944. I added quite a bit to the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engine including the ignition wiring harness, Curtiss prop governor, brush assembly and junction box. Some detail was added to cockpit too, including a Yahu instrument panel... The engine and cowling are completely removable using magnets as are the underwing bombs. I left the sliding canopy unglued so that it can be posed open or closed. All of major markings are painted using custom-made masks. The only decals used were the Eileen artwork and a few of the maintenance stencils. I really can't believe I didn't comment on this John. I saw it and thought I did but DANG man. The detailing on this thing alone is something to admire and then you throw in all of that weathering that you do and it just puts it over the top. It looks like you chose to paint the checkerboard pattern on the nose which could NOT have been fun at all but is a "tell all" when it comes to the outcome. Being a Trumpeter kit, how much did this one fight you and were the injector pin marks as bad as some of the other offerings I've seen by them?

Academy 1/48 Spitfire Mk.XIVe Tamiya 1/35 M151A2 TOW jeep Beautiful work on both of those rides Carlos. First off, that camo work on the Spitfire turn out flawlessly. Having never built a single Academy kit, how was this one in terms of ease of assembly? Secondly, that Jeep turned out to look like the real deal! The weathering and all that equipment scattered all over it looks "the business". I had to chuckle a little bit as I thought of the Beverly Hillbillies when I first saw it. Exceptional work on both of these buddy.

I had to chuckle a little bit as I thought of the Beverly Hillbillies when I first saw it. Exceptional work on both of these buddy. Thanks Joe. The Academy Spitfire kit is as easy to assemble as they come. Aside from a dab of filler on the undersides of the fuselage where the wing bottom and fuselage meet, the fit is excellent. Any problems with the build itself were self inflicted. The TOW jeep was a fun project and something of a personal labor of love, having been a TOW gunner and occasionally driven M151s... I just never was on TOW jeeps. And yeah, scattered gear was routine on any serving non parade vehicle I've ever seen, driven, or ridden in. Thats part of the fun. although this one is more Rat Patrol than Beverly Hillbillies ... not that I'd mind seeing an Israeli Ellie Mae... man they have some lovely women in uniform

Excellent. Is the F-16 in the Euro 1 colors for the CAS tests Exactly right. If you look under the centerline, the large white pod with the blue stripe on it is the GPU-5/A 30mm gun pod that was carried by some of the Vipers in those CAS tests. The example I was modeling also had the AIM-9Ps and AGM-65Ds on it.
