I always get a kick out of seeing your work on these kinds of cars Gary. This one is surely coming together well with all the detailing and paint work that you're putting into this. Beautiful work so far buddy!! Thank you Joe. I grew up with the early modifieds, Super modifieds and stock cars (back then they were called "HARDTOPS") The track (Shasta Speedway) was about a mile and a half from my house. You could hear them running from the front yard...pretty darn cool!

Looking great! I like how the wheels make the whole build pop out! Thanks, Andy. I've always said that the wheels and tires, is really what makes a car look Great.

There used to be a local dragstrip about a 1/2 mile from my brother and sister in law's house and you could hear it all right there in the back yard. lol

Here's a thing that is really helpful in keeping your wheels square and straight. I bought two 6" combination squares and slid one onto the other to make a small jig for squaring up your tires. Works great for 1/43 up to at least 1/18 scale. I also got two 12" combos for larger scales...here's a look see at them in action....

Marty Robbins, first Race car (and 1962 "DEVIL WOMEN" album cover) is finished for the group build. I don't have a 60s girl with a helmet, to model next to the car (bummer), so well have to settle for what's left...The Race Car. It was a cool build to do...really enjoyed it. Thanks for looking in and commenting folks...

That car just looks so cool with that album cover in the background. You did MORE than a great job on replicating this car Gary and I thoroughly enjoyed following along throughout the entire build process. Fantastic work bud!!

Cool build. You don't see dirt racecars modeled that often.

GREAT job on this one Gary! Love the photo with the album cover! This is really impressive especially considering the limited source material you were working with. You nailed the colors too. Awesome job!

What a great looking modified! You mimicked this one perfectly. I love your dirt track themed builds, they really bring back a lot of memories.

I know you're not into this type of racing, but it's the thought that counts...right? Actually, I like seeing these dirt track cars bud. I've been to several races here in Corpus and in Dallas and had a great time. I got the opportunity to ride along in a pusher truck out on the track once and it was really cool being out there amongst the other cars.

What a great looking modified! You mimicked this one perfectly. I love your dirt track themed builds, they really bring back a lot of memories. Thank you for the compliment handi. Yea...I grew up around the dirt tracks in northern Calif. Shasta Speedway in Anderson...Silver Dollar speedway in Chico... Sacramento mile, in Sacramento and a few others up here in Washington.. I'm just a dirty guy to the BONE! I do like Asphalt too. The ISMA Super Modifieds are waaaay too cool to watch run. The Smart Modifieds series is fun too watch. The NASCAR Mods(that's the only NASCAR that I watch now days) are great to watch.
