I was working on this one to have something else to do than the Crocker, The Crocker is fun work but for me it is a mentally strenuous build so this kit for relaxation. I have adjusted some things and of course new spokes. The first spraying has been done, but due to a missing color I could not continue spraying. The intention is a barn find but we'll see where that ends RON!! Great to see you man! I hear you on taking a break on an "all out" build. I went through this a couple of years ago with my Ford Maverick build and ended up doing two other "filler builds" in the meantime to take a break from that 1 year long project with the Maverick. That being said....I totally get what you're saying. This one is looking good buddy and it's good to have you back.

Interesting project as a "barn find". Is this the old ESCI kit?

Interesting project as a "barn find". Is this the old ESCI kit? Yes, this is the old Esci kit that Italeri has been selling under their label for years and can now also be noticed by the worn molds that are used

Yes sometimes you have to take a step back with a complex construction, it's more the material the kit consists of which doesn't really work well because of unfamiliarity with it. But the weather in the Netherlands is rainy so time for modeling normally is backpacking and hiking for a few days.

Wow, I remember this kit so well, done two of them. The first one was almost show room complete when it met its demise on the carpet under my BOOT, HA! The fiddly bits on the fenders are a royal pain. No worries, pulled the second one out and carried on, lol.
I like how you're approaching this build, should be awesome when finished. Standing by.
Cheers, Ski.
P.S. Where did you get the spoke kit, if you plz?

First of all you've done very well with an out of the box build up Ron. Secondly, I almost never build anything straight from the box for just the reasons that you're saying......it's a real pain to work with and try to get to look right. Your efforts have surely paid off thus far.

I did spray over the H-D in the meantime because I found the base layer too dark for when a wash comes over it. Repainted but now kept the base layer a lot lighter and I was pleased with the first wash that the color remained fairly light.

Such an enjoyable build to follow. I do admire your talent with these bikes of yours Ron. Your painting and building skills are definitely up there with the best bud. WOW!

I am really digging this, I love old vintage anything.
There was a show on I think history channel called American Pickers that my wife and I loved to watch, they would pull old bikes out of barns and occasionally have them restored, this build reminds me of that show.

Ron, are you going to add all the plumbing and wiring? The nice thing about this scale is the opportunity to get all the details without too much difficulty.
That is some serious crazy detail making the spokes yourself, impressive work, Buddy!

Guys thanks for responding. Steve I doint do to much on te wiring its something that you see much off at the end and I`m lazy :-) Another small step further in the finishing. I sanded the walls of the ammunition box thinner and made a new lid from plastic card. Replace the plastic pipes with copper ones and painted some more parts in a different color.

It's great to have you back and again showing progress on this beauty. With each update this one is looking more and more 1:1 scale. Great choice on the copper pipes. Truly good work going on here Ron.

I'm not going anywhere Joe just have very little time at the moment to build hope to get a bit more active in a month. The Harley is slowly starting to look like something but still has a long way to go.

Outstanding! I love bikes and always geek out at one of these when I see them at a car show. A far cry from my R1, but these are iconic rides. You are definitely nailing the look of this one!

My bench time has been severely cut into as of late with being out of town as well as other projects going on at home.

Not much work has been done on the Harley yet, but it is slowly coming to life but there is still a lot to do. Luckily it's getting a bit colder so I can do some spraying on the Crocker

Every little bit is a bit closer to completion Ron. Believe me......I've been moving at a snails pace on my current build as bench time is far and few between with all the things that I've had going on in the background as well as being sick for a few days. That REALLY threw me off and have had to play "catch up".
She's looking mighty fine so far brother.
