Did some more small things to the H-D such as some more rust, installed a few small parts and sanded the tire profile and then smeared the tires with thick cement from Tamyia to make them less coarse, not done yet in the photo. To be continued :-) Your attention to detail in achieving realism is impeccable Ron. I get a real kick out of watching these older bikes of yours come together as you put everything you've got into them. Glad to have you back aboard brother.

This is looking "Top Shelf"!
I remember reading an article on rubber tires. They said put them in the freezer and then sand to avoid all the stubble. Not sure if you've tried that, but it had some effect on my Harley tires, in a good way.

I missed your update somehow, the weathered faded finish on this is just outstanding.

Thanks for the responses guys. Steve I am familiar with the freezer method and yes it works well, but you should not use a steel file to remove the profile But with Tamiya glue I get it smooth again.

Sneak preview almost ready, now just have to check whether everything has been done. Hope to finish this project this weekend and post the final photos on its basic surface here. The photo is a litle bright and doint give the correct colors 😱

The photo is a litle bright and doint give the correct colors 😱 This has really been quite fun to follow along on Ron. You've really taken your time with each and every piece of this beautiful bike in making it look this good. Looking forward to more pictures in moving forward but am saddened over seeing the build end.

Outstanding build!!! If you place it outside you would have easily fooled us as a real thing! I really enjoyed following your build so thank you for doing this.

Uh oh, a broken drive chain... not good! And seriously... WOW! You have turned this into one tired looking worn out Harley. That is some superb finishing work that you have done here.

Just absolutely brilliant. It looks like it was well used for a long period of time right up until it wouldn't move anymore. Fantastic work.
