Revell 1966 Chevrolet C/10 Fleetside

I thought I would show off some more of my wife's contributions to my hobby. I build the racecars for my own benefit and if she picks out a kit during our trips to the hobby shop then lucky me! She's very supportive of my model building. So, she loves trucks, particularly old ones. She actually had an 87 Silverado before we got married (we still have it). She picked out the '66 Fleetside. Not Revell's finest offering. It needs some help to get it to sit right and for the body lines to line up right. I did the best I could at the time. She chose the color combo again here. I also attempted some slight weathering as if it were a newer truck but was being worked a little bit at the local orchard. And finally this was one of my first ever attempts at adding extra details to the engine bay. I was very pleased with myself at the time. LOL. I'll continue to post up more ancient history here as I sift through photos.

Love those white wheels and the wood panels in the bed! Which hobby shop do you usually raid? Hobby Town USA near Castleton is the only one I have in my area unfortunately.

Saw this one this morning just before I headed out to work and didn't have time to comment. That right there is one good looking truck and such a good job on replicating a true classic in the truck realm of things. Love the paint and detailing on this one Kyle.

Thank you! Will travel for a good hobby shop! Lol. There are zero in my area. However, we like to eat so we find ourselves traveling around the city often so not a huge deal. Hobbytown used to have a location on the south side at 65 and Southport road but it closed so now the Castleton location is closest for me as well. We certainly don’t have a great area for hobby shops near us!!

AHHH! That's what I was afraid of. I read somewhere that Richmond has a nice hobby shop but I couldn't find it. If you are willing to travel that fair, I strong encourage you to join our local club meeting as we meet every third Friday at VFW Club near Fort Harrison. With you being in Shelbyville, your drive shouldn't be no more than 40-45 minutes. You will get to meet great guys who like to build just anything and there are few members who are truly into racing cars like yourself. Our meeting draw an average of 25-30 members now but less in the summers.

Hey, I saw that on the link you shared with me. My only hold up is Fridays are one of the only days off the wife and I have together. However, if she gets tired of me one week or make other plans then I shall certainly venture up there. I don’t mind the drive. Living in Shelbyville you get used to traveling a distance for anything interesting. Lol. Do I just show up? Should I let someone know if I’m going to be going? I will definitely keep it in my mind going forwards.
