HV was the squadron code for the 61st Fighter Squadron, 56th Fighter Group. I always remember HV as both Robert Johnson and Francis Gabreski flew with that squadron and their P-47's had HV codes, with Johnson usually having HV*P and Gabreski usually flying Jugs coded HV*A. Not to mention the white cowling and white tail stripes theater US single engine fighter ID markings. Man I hate when fools get computers and photoshop photos... It's on the internet so it must be true...

Ok guys I’ve started mine! You can find it over in Dioramas… HOORAY. When I started this thread it was an actual challenge for people to build the pictures not just a joke so this was the goal all along.

I saw a picture of something similar from a show once and absolutely loved the idea. Be very fun.

Only the middle picture with the ground crew sitting on the wing is real, and notice where the damage is, in the middle of the aileron, at the end of the ammunition bin with the wall of the bin, still intact.

Ahh yes! And a closer look shows that the A6 on the nose in the middle picture isn't even close to that on the first. The writing below the windscreen also disappears. Another shopped pic that fooled me as it was done a bit better than the obvious one used in most of the internet stories on this aircraft.
