So over in the pub thereβs a group of us posting crazy pictures to see who will step up and try to replicate one π€ͺ Well i loved this shoot out under the Eiffel Tower so here goes! 1st collect what we needβ¦ Next we need a base. And if we have a base we must use the golden ratio π€£ so here it is with length 1.618 times the width π Ok, now to retire for the night while the wood glue dries. This will be a blast π₯

So looking forward to this. I put that pic up and suggested the scale so I'm invested! It's an awesome story that needs to be told in 1/650th scale

Now that's spooky.....I want to do this with a Mosquito from the RCAF, that did this for the Stars and Stripes Magazine in the summer of 1944. Trouble is I want to do it at 1/72, which means the Eiffel Tower will be about 19 feet tall.....
If you have no objection I'll share my picture of that shot on here?

Tomβs Modelworks! they are printing them now rather than clear plastic. A bit disappointed in that because i have to paint the canopy or try to make oneβ¦however they are so small i will have to provide binoculars to see it that close anyway π

Not tryin to tell you what to do and you're invested with the Heller tower and the planes , but have you thought about just doing the bottom portion as in tcoat's photo ? At least you can use 1/72nd scale planes . postimg.cc/t7GvdTjK] [/url]

Alas I have everything for this now and am invested in the base. Honestly, my thought in this scale was to make the tower the centerpiece. The planes will be that aha! moment when people look closely π€© keavdog - challenge accepted π€ͺπ€―

absolutely, feel free to share it here! Hi Chris Sorry we were away when I posted the above messafe....so here goes. I know this was far from the only plane to do it but this is the background to this particular shot: - The plane in question is almost certainly 'A for Able' from 409 Sqn Royal Canadian Air Force, which flew exclusively night fighters, specifically Mossies from March 1944 onwards. In the Spring of 1944 the squadron was transferred to the 2nd Tactical Air Force. Post D-Day it moved to France and apparently, whilst on R&R in Paris, the squadron leader bumped into a journalist and/or photographer from the Stars and Stripes magazine.....they seemingly got talking and the below shot was the result of that conversation. Apparently it was taken on 14th September 1944.
There is a bit more info about the squadron here: modelerssocialclub.proboards.com/post/357100/threadAll the best for the build. Andrew
