Hi all, I have this thread open on a couple forums, but here's my progress on my Impala. I've been working on this for a couple days. I'm doing some custom brake lines, spark plugs and I'd like to cut open the boot and put all their weapons and salt and whatnot that they have stashed back there. I made custom springs out of wire too. This is a mock up. You can see where I've made some ooopsies on the body while deepening the body lines and door jams. I'll patch those up... Green wires is the main brake lines that go up to the cylinder in the engine bay (which is drilled out too) and the silver wire is the smaller brake line that will go directly to the brakes. I have put the chassis together with my custom lining. The engine isn't going to be orange because I don't like orange. So it's red. I will paint the lines again then clear coat the chassis. The floorpan will be left flat black. I hope my detailing is effective. First time I've tried this level of detail on a car. It's fun but my wrists hurt.

That's a great start on that Impala Declan. I like the brake lines for SURE and I also like the fact that you'll be painting the engine red. Looking forward to seeing more on this one buddy.

Now that you mention it, looking at the last photo in your previous post it does appear there is a bit of twist in the frame. Or perhaps it's just the angle of the photo and I'm seeing something that's not there...
Regards,
M

I hope you keep cranking away at this, you are really close to the finish line now. You could soak the grill in Simple Green to remove the rest of the chrome and spray it with Alclad or a metalizer chrome

Hi all, thank you for the comments! Interior is done and installed onto the chassis. The exhaust is mostly done, need to touch up my glue joints with some paint and its good. The body doesn't sit flat on the frame in the engine bay, and the rear of the body will raise if I push the front down. Im going to need to use some serious CA glue on that spot to keep it together. Next step is to decide whether or not I am going to open up the boot for the weapons and stuff. I also do not know where the ignition coil line goes to from the distributor so it's currently just hanging out. I muffed up my bumper and somehow removed the chrome finish... so I need a new front grill now. Other than that, after body work and paint, it's all done. You ever get this one finished up Declan? It was coming along pretty dang well on that last update.
