Hot and humid here too, but nothing like what the mainland is going though. But I have to go to the office today, so no mowing the lawn, no modeling.
Any thoughts on color scheme Mence? Desert yellow or gray like the instructions suggest? Or something else?

Such a cool kit, and you are doing awesome work. Great save on the gun barrels and breech setup.

There are some Chinese metal tack links on Ebay but they aren't cheap! I did find a set on Aliexpress for around $45. Hopefully they are of good quality and arrive within a couple of weeks. The tracks came in yesterday - thanks guys for the info! They look a lot like the Chinese metal tracks I got for my M107. The steel wire in both sets look the same and are really hard. I will probably swap them with brass wire to make cutting and cleaning easier.

Stik, my favorite reaction to that statement comes from "Team America: World Police": Gary: "A Lamborghini that turns into an airplane? Now I've seen it all!" Spotswood: "Have you ever seen a man swallow his own head?"
Gary: "Ummmm.... No."
Sportswood: "Then you HAVEN'T seen everything yet... And neither have we."

Sorry guys, I'm just pirating Mence's thread! I just had to play copycat and get those metal tracks, as I was a bit disappointed in the kit version. When my friends and I influence each other into making a purchase, we call it "cross-contamination". You know, like cooties in kindergarten.

Chaps. Colour is starting to go on, wheels painted, hull in three shades of grey. I did consider the metal tracks which are really nice but decided against them on the grounds of cost / you only really see 40% of them. For the money i didn't spend, I was able to largely finance my Christmas build which I will start shortly (yes I know Christmas is a way off but I'm so damn slow at modelling.) Anyway, pic attached, apologies for the poor quality image (and build) Back soon, need panel liner...

Chaps. Threw some paint at the turret as well. I use Mr Color for this as they have an excellent range of grey paints that are very close to each other but subtly different enough of a bit of tonal variation. Of course my pic doesn't really show it but it's there.

This is shaping up nicely Mence. I can’t get over the size of this thing as compared to your computer mouse in the background. Frickin MASSIVE!! I hear you being slow but it makes any given build that much more enjoyable IMO. Looking forward to this “Christmas build” that you’ve got planned….

I'm with you re: the tracks. If there were a skirtless option, I could see using them. But with only forty percent visible...looks great, man! Doing any camo?

Because of the way its engineered you could model it 'skirtless' but personally I prefer the side armour on. I'm probably just going with lightly weathered grey, I'm not big on heavy weathering

Chaps. Decals are a disappointment. As soon as they touched water they fell apart. I salvaged what I could, the large chevrons on the hull were really bad but the slightly chipped effect I ended up with kinda went in my favour. Although hardly seen, all clear parts will be given a coat of Alclad Armoured Glass and the barrels received light gunmetal on the recoil portion. I'm really undecided about the future of this, leaning already towards stripping and repainting in a modern disruptive camo scheme but that will be for another day, fortunately the press fit nature of these kits lends itself to that. Cheers.

Looks pretty sharp in that scheme. I really like the bare metal recoil area on the main guns! Sorry to hear about the decal disintegration. Those chevrons would not be too hard to mask off and paint if need be.
