Kinetic Sea Harrier

I've been eyeballing these Kinetic Harriers for a while. Finally decided to grab one at Nats. My plan going forward for a while is to do some 48th builds sprinkled in with my larger projects 





First thing that hit me when I started taking parts off sprue was how small 48th cockpits are in comparison. 







My one complaint here is that Kinetic provides no IP decals. Not terribly off putting. I just had to pull out my Airscale dial sheet and do the best I could with what eyesight I have. Not anything spectacular but it'll hold up for an OOB build. 







Images above will show what I am dealing with fit wise. Not seen is how the fuselage pieces were warped and need significant clamping. But can see how nasty the wing fit is. Some styrene is needed here. 

This is where i am at now. Wings on and some cleanup ahead of me. But after that shouldn't be much left to do build wise

Yup.....I'll be looking forward to this one. I saw that kit there as well Jimmy, I was gonna grab one of the ANG Kinetic F-16's while I was there but got used up all my "fun" money buying other kits. One of these days I want to tackle an F-16 but I don't feel that my skillset isn't where I want it just yet to be able to do a kit like that any real justice.

I am wondering if the RAF GR3 has better fit.  Kinetic made a whole new wing as well as some other parts for that particular boxing.  Kinetic also made the two-seater Harriers, which are pretty weird looking beasts.

Its odd because i have built several of these and not had fit problems although i have seen others just as bad as yours... Make sure the wing tip wheels are vertical ie: that the wing dihedral is correct ?

That's good advice!  I was taught that as one of the first things in the IPMS Model Construction 101 course.
