The number of entries was less than last year, probably because the Nationals in San Marcos was only 2 weeks prior.  The vendor's wares were better though, as I was moved to a (albeit single) purchase.

Glad you made it to that show Neal. I'd considered it but, just wasn't in the cards. Thanks for the pics. Looks like there were some really spectacular builds.

  Golly Neal, Las Vegas is practically in my front yard....continentialy speaking, If I'da known you were on the mainland I would have made a trip to say " HI" . Oh well, maybe next time.

Next time I'll definitely ask around if anyone else is going to a show.  The Mob has to represent!  This time around I was a bit ashamed of going without an entry, so I was keeping relatively low-key.  

Hope you are doing well with the oil changes - someone on the FSM forum was asking if you were doing OK.

Neal, thanks for the pics. I've always wanted to go to the Vegas Best of the West, but I can never afford it. Thank you for letting me attend vicariously through you.

I do hope to see you at the Orangecon this October.

My friend who got me to go to Best of the West also wants me to go to Orangecon.  He is going this October, but my limit is one a year (actually one per two to three years).

I hear you on the cost of things!  Las Vegas used to be the cheap vacation, but now the prices for everything is like being back home in Hawaii.  I am lucky that one of my friends is a Vegas-holic, and so he covered my hotel and most of my meals using his comps.  I don't feel too bad because he made a couple thousand on the slots!

By the way, we did sort of meet at one of the Nationals, at the banquet where we sat at the same table with Fred Horky and Ralph Forehand.  I was the guy across the table from you.  If I do attend an Orangecon, I'll definitely give you a shout out!

Looked like a very cool show. It's funny that I live in the fourth largest city in the country and we have one of the lamest shows. Phoneix, Vegas, and others make us look stupid.

G, thanks! I do hope you can make it. I haven't been able to get to any other contests lately myself, but Orangecon is one I don't want to miss. I'll be looking out for you.

And yes, I remember that Nationals. I think it was Vegas; that was also the last Nationals that I brought out my entire collection of small scale vehicles.
