Hello chaps.
Often in Military build instructions, certain parts are suggested to be painted steel colour.
What do you guys suggest as the best paint to replicate this?
I have tried mixing my own with little success and have yet to find one that seems to do the job properly.
I know Alclad do some but I'm talking Acrylics.
Many thanks

hi mate, I use Vallejo Natural Steel for this, works out fine and gives a nice metallic sheen ^^
Cheers

Prof, depends on what you are painting I would say. If you mean worn areas then the chaps covered that. For tools, which I think you mean, then it depends. I stay away from a true shiny metal look as this is out of scale, Like Iain mentioned. I mix some light gray with steal or aluminum to tone down the shine. I will then give this a wash and burnish only the edges with a graphite.

Apologies guys, I should have explained it is for painting tools rather than chipping. Suggestions taken on board, thank you all.
