I'm one of those people who still likes most Testors/Model Master enamel paints, especially their vast array of reds. To that end, I do occasional ebay searches to see what's still out there at reasonable prices. I found another big sale the other day (probably 20-some colors in varying quantities) and one listing was for MM Deep Red Pearl. It was an acrylic, but the prospect of that shade intrigued me, so I bought two bottles.
The seller's picture should have given me pause, as the bottle appeared to contain a bluish paint, despite what the label said, (another example: www.ebay.com/itm/134424882498) but I pulled the trigger anyway. When I received the package, I saw that both bottles looked just like the ebay picture. In a desperate attempt to change reality, I fired up my trusty Badger paint mixer and went after it, but the paint stubbornly remained blue.
Occam's razor says it was a factory label issue, since someone from another board pointed out that even though it said Deep Red Pearl, its sku# was 4651, which is Deep Pearl Purple.
The ebay listing indicates they still have around 10 more of these, so I'm hoping I can spare other modelers some aggravation.
