Yes, i did. Definitely nice stuff. Still thinking this will be out of box though. I’m afraid if i do the wheels…then i might get a 3D printed engine, then that would lead to real rubber, and then we go back to that page 1 comment about making things more complicated 😂🤣🍻

So here we find that when standing Shirley looks ok…but when sitting she has the shoulders of a linebacker and the V-shape of a male bodybuilder 😆 off came the arms and out came the dremel. I think i’ve sanded enoigh away to fit. Gonna need some epoxy sculp 😉



Picked up that 3d printed christmas tree as well. Glad i bought 2 as i just got a project today that will use the 2nd one i bought! These trees look great.

That's quite the undertaking, but she'll look great sitting down at the controls.

The work on Shirley continues. I haven’t had much time for modeling as I’m sure you’ve guessed. But when i did i worked on Shirley. Geez, they molded her as a gorilla! I’ve taken 3/16” out of the middle of her, split right down the middle and then squeezed together. Trimmed a little off the elbow. Took the high collar off…managed that all in 1 piece with a razor saw so i can put it back on. Cut out the face shield on the helmet. Added some epoxy sculpt in the torso and upper thighs so she could bend at the waist without breaking.





When i get home from this latest trip i think assembly of the cage and frame can begin. Parts are primed in black and ready for me to spray in chrome. This little vignette should come together pretty quick from there. I swear it’ll only take a weekend of focus lol

More progress! What an ordeal i created 🤪 i had to cut more off her backside, baby got NO back now haha









I set her in place with more 2 part epoxy sculpt and will hopefully finish up her body this weekend and get her primed. From what i can see i have to place her before the model is done. I’m going to see if i can place the wheel in her hands and and get her in after everything is done. Good to spend time dry fitting and organizing the build now so I don’t have to repaint anything later I figure 👍

And while the paint dried i did alot of assembly. This won’t be the best but it’ll look great on the shelf. Parts are super brittle and a couple rods sprung into the ether lol i’m going to use the frame twist to my advantage and have the dragster rolling out past the 60’ mark with the front wheels just off the ground 👍



I am pretty thrilled with how my slicks turned out. No seem in the middle and i think they look like they’re in use. A little cotton for smoke maybe, not sure yet on that?

Looks like it's coming together quick now that you have her fitted for the seat. You could have just left her eyes large and put a deer on the track in her lane...

I really truly wish at least one thing would line up correctly on this dragster! Between that and the pieces being so brittle that they break in two and three at the slightest touch, final assembly has been torturous. But I’ve got Shirley in and I’ve got the panels on drag slicks are on and lined up so it is moving along.





Even sitting still, you can see the torque that engine is putting out! Check out what those G forces are doin 🤣

Oh for sure! After putting the front wheels on the twist looks even worse 🤣 it’ll definitely make a good action diorama! 







If you look at that front wheel on the far side I think you can see how far off the table it is 😅

OK I think all i have to do on the dragster is plug wires. Decals were each laid down in 7 or 8 pieces each lol
Here is my mock up of the track for Shirley’s last race in Pomona CA! This weekend I’ll finish up the track. For that center lane billboard I plan to print the sponsors on photo paper and glue to the board you see there. And of course finish the Christmas tree 👍






Original decals were trashed so I sourced a decent set but of course still original issue. Look at the brown edges and the junk that came off them in the water! I’m thrilled they came out as good as they did!
