Going to work on this on and off. This model was built, must be 20 years or so ago. First thing I did was sand down some rough spots and repainted all but the running gear and lower hull, that just needs a better paint job. Today I went out to the garage and cut a chunk of screen out of an old window that fits nowhere in the house, past remodel I'm thinking. Anyway used that to make screens for the engine deck. Also made a handle for the engine hatch from a piece of a paper clip. The kit never did come with the track cable so I made one out of picture hanging wire.

Nice touch using the hanging wire! I wasn't sure what I can use on my Panther and thank to you I know what to do next. Your Panther is looking good!

Love all the scratch work from common household items on this one Mike!!! The results speak for themselves. It's always cool when we really think about it a minute just how much "stuff" we have around the home to make work with scale models. Watching for more...........

I'm cheap! 😂 But the less I have to spend on ready made model bits and pieces the more money I have for kits. I know you model cars, I would think picture hanging wire would have many wiring applications for you, from individual wires to wiring bundles. It just such easy stuff to work with.

Little paint on the screens makes them look a little better.

Very cool. Back in the mid 80’s, my folks bought me the Academy 1/25 Jagdpanther that was motorized and had a remote. Now I’m getting nostalgic.

I've given thought to wire harnesses using hanging wire in the distant past but you've rejuvenated my thoughts on the matter. Good progress on this one bud.

The jack block is, well interesting to say the least. The top of block is molded at an angle and not square, and for whatever reason they molded the cross piece of the holder to low. So I trimmed off the molded on holder, then cut the angle of the block out leaving a shelf for a scrap piece of plastic glued in place Then I just trimmed down the scrap piece and squared off the top. I'm planning on making the holder out of scrap PE frames.

I sure like the worn paint effects on the wood jack block.

Following with extreme interest since I'm building this kit right now.
Really like your rework of the jack block.
