Ohhhhh my gawd! Thank you so much for showing us the step by step on how to create this masterpiece. It seems my eyes are playing tricks on me, because its very hard to believe that this is not real! Just amazing. How long did this take from start to finish?

This is levels beyond my capabilities as a modeler at this point. There are so many talents on display here that it's really hard to find a starting point in commenting or asking any questions.
10 minutes later.......
Now that the "WOW" factor has subsided somewhat....I'm amazed at how you get your concrete to look like concrete. What's your method with this?

That is alot of work in such a short time The level of detail is so astronomical, I can pick out different things each time I look. I can imagine the client was very pleased.

Oh, BTW, the interior is just a photo mock-up of an actual storage facility, that I downloaded and printed out after reducing the image. I think it gives an enormance illusion, to the scale.

Now that the "WOW" factor has subsided somewhat....I'm amazed at how you get your concrete to look like concrete. What's your method with this? The concrete method on this particular diorama was simply painting the xps form a concrete color using wall paint mixed from my local paint shop. But the trick is using rolled up foil and pressing it against the form to produce irregular impressions in the concrete, to make it look used.

This is a great tip in regard to the concrete look Charles. You should publish a frickin' book on some of the techniques that you have. This build is just laced with good stuff.

That is slick, Charles! The natural light pics make this difficult to tell it's really a dio. The ground work, structures, interior, plus lighting, did you leave anything out? Sheesh!

I always use a little wall plaster to help with the surface.
