Started this right after the Grad. I'm horrible for updating my WIP threads but I'll try to get better. Doing my usual out of the box building though I might replace the tracks. We'll see. The first 4 building steps. Pretty straightforward and fit was good. Minimal flash and parting lines.

AWESOME! Kit comes with MagicTracks too? I had that kit but I sold it to a friend a while ago and I admit I regretted it until I got one from Border. Always am a big fan of those Panzer IV workhorses!

Welcome to the thread Chad!
Come on in Leon, pull up a chair.
Andy! Yep, it does have the Magic tracks. You should have kept that kit, it's pretty nice.
Pull up a chair too Dan!
This will be the first Dragon IV for me Tony. So far so good. I have done a couple of the Dragon Stug III before.
Welcome Stik, we'll see how it goes.

OK, steps 5 thru 8 are done. The fenders, road wheels, return rollers, drive sprockets and spare tracks are all just sitting in place. I need to make the track runs next so we'll see how that goes. I'm using the kit Magic Tracks but if I screw them up I have a set of Friuls and a set of RFM workable tracks I can use.

That’s some good progress on this one John. Hopefully the Magic Tracks will work out well for you.

I'm curious to see how the Magic Tracks work for you. It always looks like there are never enough to complete two full sets of tracks in their packaging.

Yep, I wish I kept mine. I sold about 100 kits several years ago. (banging my head on the wall) Your panzer is looking good by the way.
I have done several Magic Tracks in the past and I found it to be very helpful if you tape couple of wood sticks to the bench to keep the tracks straight while you assemble and glue. Then please allow the glue to do its work for 5 minutes or so before you can put them on the tracks before they dry completely then they settle on the wheels nicely.

I've done PzIV magic tracks before - they worked out quite well (compared to some of the smaller ones, like Panzer I and IIs!).

Yep, I wish I kept mine. I sold about 100 kits several years ago. (banging my head on the wall) That was a mistake!! I know! But fortunately there are much nicer kits out there now among new manufacturers such as RFM, Meng & Border. I had to raise money for my Band of Brother tour in Europe back in 2016 and it was worth every dime.

You think the newer ones are nicer? In some cases, you're probably right, but I'm not sure it's an across-the-board thing.

Thanks Joe, tracks worked out OK. Plenty of extra links Stik. something like 40 or so of each side left over. Thanks for the tip Andy! Roobo, I like their plastic as well. Tony and Chad, thanks guys! Hasenpfeffer, welcome aboard! Thanks Dupes! I'll bet Pz I and II are a pain.

Magic tracks played nice. There were ejection pin marks on each link. Some were fairly pronounced but most were very light. Used the edge of the knife to smooth out the links and it didn't take too long. Plenty of links left over.
