Another Hasegawa Zero under way, this will be the third Hasegawa 1/48 A6M I've done. An easy build and detailed enough for me. The last photo is at the 3 hour mark, or thereabouts.

Good progress for only 3 hours of work John. I've built up a few Hase kits and have enjoyed all that I have taken on so far.
P.S. That Hase Arado 234 did give me a run for my money.

Joe, you would almost think the Arado 234 started out as a Dragon kit. They sure do beat the Hobbycraft version.

This one has its base and lower side coat, but now I have to wait for some dark green that is suitable to come from Sprue Bros.

Coming together nicely John! I built this kit a number of years back for a museum exhibit. As I recall it was pretty drama free.

Thanks, Brent and Kyle.
More progress on this one, major markings painted on. I think the dark green was field applied so I went with a very dense mottle to replicate an uneven coating and fading.

I like the color modulation that you've pulled off on this one John and she's coming together very well indeed.

Getting pretty close. Going to do some chipping with a silver pencil and maybe a little more weathering. I dunno.

I like the way you pulled the paint work off on this one John. The chipping and extra weathering are REALLY gonna set this one off.

Great finish! How did you capture the spinning prop effect?

A pair of excellent builds of aircraft I really like. Very nicely done. This turned out awesome as well. Love the color contrasts.

Thanks, everyone. I had fun with these, nothing to serious involved in either build. Great finish! How did you capture the spinning prop effect? Brent, I usually replace the prop shaft with music wire and glue the matching size brass tubing in the engine, so the prop will spin with a low pressure airflow from an airbrush held just out of camera view.

Thanks, John, dupes, and Joe. Every time I look at it I dislike the chipping by the cockpit on the left side. Needs more work! Ordered a Hasegawa A6M2a Type 11 today, somehow I hadn't known Hasegawa did that one. Used in China, they were really development airplanes.
