Outrageously excellent pickup Kyle. You really did nail the patina look on it. I am quite impressed with your wood representation on the stakes, bed and surfboard. I like it.

I always love looking at this era of motor vehicles! You have done a stupendous job on an old classic! Way to go! Thank you very much! I also love the early era stuff, with the big swooping fenders and some real workmanship. Vehicles in those days were art. Some of them still are but not as many. You got a solid patina look with this one and I just love the detailing that you put under the hood Kyle!! Beautiful work all the way through on that truck man!! Thanks very much! I enjoyed the process and always love a nice flathead. Outrageously excellent pickup Kyle. You really did nail the patina look on it. I am quite impressed with your wood representation on the stakes, bed and surfboard. I like it. Thanks so much! Turned out better than I anticipated. I can't take credit for the surfboard as the decal was included to mimic the boxart surfboard, but I'll take the blame for the stakes and the bed floor.

That box art does nothing for me...but MAN. What a build! How did you do the worn fender effects?

Very nice build, great job on the weathering! Thank you very much! It was a different style for me and quite enjoyable. That box art does nothing for me...but MAN. What a build! How did you do the worn fender effects? I just thought it was a cool piece of artwork, although I'm no surfer and don't even liked the bench. I guess I saw it and thought, "that would be fun to try to replicate" Worn fenders were achieved by layering a couple different colors of primer with a red oxide on top. Then I did a beautiful paint job over it with Tamiya cobalt green. Seriously it looked nice. So then I proceeded to intentionally ruin it by wetsanding mostly with 2000 great through the green and into the other layers of colors. Simple enough but it achieved mostly what I was going for. This build is an absolute killer!! Awesome paint, luv it! Thank you very much. I had a ton of fun doing this one. It turned out almost just as I imagined.

That sounds way too easy for an effect that looks that good! 😂

That sounds way too easy for an effect that looks that good! 😂 Trust me, I'm as surprised as you are. This was all just an experiment. I tried it first in a more subtle way on the 41 Plymouth I built and it sort of seemed like it worked so I just went for it on this one. Thanks again.
