Just finished this one. My first completed build since 2022! This is the Revell Porsche Boxster Snap Tite kit from 2015. It was a gift from my wife and daughter several years ago. I built this as a test bed to try out a few different products and techniques. As such, there are a few “firsts” for me on this project. For starters, the paint. This was shot with Tamiya TS-26 Pure White, Testors Extreme lacquer blazing black, and cleared with Rustolium clear lacquer. I’d never used the Tamiya rattle cans before, and wow! Great stuff! The undercarriage was lightly weathered (another first for me) with Tamiya panel line accent, and Mr. Weathering Color. The kit was built straight out of the box, with the only addition being the stripe decals, taken from the AMT Mercury Comet kit. I hope you enjoy! As always, questions, comments, and constructive criticism are welcome. Thanks for looking.👍

Bet it felt great to finish a kit! Your Porsche really looks great especially its black hood!

The mesh screens behind the seats are great for OOB! Really nice finish on this model. I find white as body color always difficult to handle.

I love the white you put on this and it looks smooth as silk! The addition of the stripes looks great!

I didn't think the mesh was going to turn out nearly that nice. It's all solid (no holes in the mesh). The "holes" are smooth and the surrounding plastic is textured slightly. I put a wash of Tamiya panel line accent in there and it pulled away from the smooth bits, leaving that mesh look. I was going got cut that section out if it didn't work. Just got lucky there.

I agree with the others here. That white looks great, and white can sure be a tough color. Congrats getting a build across the finish line! That is awesome! Those Tamiya rattle cans sure are nice, I agree. Also, The stripe really looks the part too. And nice job with the subtle chassis weathering. Look forward to seeing what else you've got coming down the pipeline.

That stripe from the Comet kit and the black hood really set that white paint job off Jeremy. Details in the interior and chassis are very well picked out and this car such a cleanly built look to it. This is definitely a build that I'd be proud of.

Thanks Kyle and Joe! Very much appreciate your comments. This is the first snap kit I’ve done since the mid 70’s. I really only started it to try some things out, but you know how it goes. I got into it and really enjoyed the process. The only real hiccup I had was that the first paint job was a mess. Totally my bad. I was trying out Rustolium and it didn’t go so well.😁.

Rustoleum can be...unforgiving. I have used it successfully in the past but it isn't what I'd reach for first. Sometimes you just see a color you really like, you know. Nice job on the end result though for sure.

Nice job on the end result though for sure. You’re not kidding about that. Awful stuff! That’s what I get for going cheap. It was a learning experience. Switching to the Tamiya for the color coat was definitely the best decision I made for the project. That being said, I did discover the Rustolium clear lacquer, which turned out to be brilliant stuff. Goes on nice and thin, and very smooth. Considering it’s from a spray can, I think it’s very easy to control and looks really good.
