I’ve been solidly back into modeling now for about eight years. I have not once, spilled glue. In the past two months, I have knocked over my Tamiya liquid cement bottle three times now. Fortunately, no plastic components were in the vicinity. I think that’s a sign I need to get out of plastic models and into R/C! 😄

My dad had the same problem but mostly with paints. He got a piece of 15mm thick timber, drilled holes through it slightly bigger than the paint tins, glued a thin piece of ply to the bottom and sat his tins in that. The tray was about 100mm x 150mm with 8 holes in it. Various size holes for different brands or glues or decal set or what ever you use.

I have used a big roll of masking tape to keep the glass bottle from tipping over. You are not alone spilling liquid cement Chad. At least the bottles are square, not like those thin, round, tippy bottles of Tenax!

Big bottles of CA, 5 and 30 minute epoxy, and the king of them all, laying up fiberglass parts with Isophthalic resin!

Alternatively you can also enter the ship building model world, with slow binding water soluble wood glue and tons of tiny nails!

I had the same issue with the terribly designed microsol/microset bottles until I got a 3d printed holder

I spilled a bottle about two months ago. Never had that happen before.🤔

How you manage to spill a big square bottle of cement I will never know but I have also done it twice. I will take it any day over spilling a whole bottle of thin, brush on, superglue all over the crotch though. That stuff gets hot FAST when it soaks into cloth. I haven't got my pants off so fast since I was 17!

I have been incredibly fortunate to have never knocked over any glue on my bench. I also have taken precautions to maintain the status quo.

I've dumped all kinds of things on my bench. I got this for my Tamiya Extra Thin. I recently got these for the super glue accelerator. The container that it comes in is a spray bottle and that does not work at all.

I'm usually really good about screwing the cap on. Welllllll.... This time only screwed on one thread. Picked up the bottle and it fell on the floor and exploded. Black enamel liner everywhere

Black enamel liner everywhere LOL I build at a small desk in my living room as there is no place for me to have a dedicated hobby room and this way I at least spend some time with the wife. On Saturday I was doing the annual pre Christmas party rug shampoo and there was a big black spot under my chair. I went over it and over it and no change. Got down and checked to find it was a big puddle of hardened tinted future. That is when I remembered the bottle I picked up with one thread on the lid last Christmas! Thought I had got it all but guess not.

I used to knock over the Testors bottle on a regular basis, but I've been okay with the Tamiya bottle it has a larger base and you really have to hit it just right,if it was more of an issue,I would look into one of those holders.
