Hasegawa Akagi Super Detail Set

Hey everyone,

I have the Hasegawa 1/350 Akagi entering my stash and would like to go ahead and secure the PE for it. I am having a challenging time locating the “Hasegawa 40071 Akagi Detail Up Super set” and was curious if anyone knew of a way to track it down. 

There is 1 listed for $600 on EBay, which is beyond any reasonable amount I would be willing to pay lol.

Good luck, I find that PE sets are really hit-and-miss on availability. It seems every kit I want to build has a PE set associated with it, but are never in stock anywhere. It can be frustrating trying to locate it.

Modelcrazy used that set on an epic build, maybe he will share a picture or two.

So after doing some extensive digging; I came across a YouTube video where someone was reviewing the Akagi and this specific detail kit. The video was posted just a few months ago, so u had slight hope he would mention where he got it. In the video, he stated it took him 2 years to finally find it…. Needless to say, I have removed that detail set from my list.

Instead I am going with the Eduard detail set,Eduard rear column set
, Hasegawa wooden deck set, and a few PE sets from Infini.

Steve probably used the Eduard set, I didn't read your post closely enough.

The Infini sets are super nice, bet you'll be happy with that. I checked one of the fb ship sales groups but nothing on there (thought I saw something a few months back). Steve's build was epic so for whatever reason I've always stopped and checked out anything that says Akagi in the title lol
