What I have been doing for a while? Other than working like crazy, I have been on a secret mission to totally revamp my workbench. Thanks to you guys especially Mike aka Medicman71 for showing off your cool work benches!!! Here's pic of my old workbench... nothing really nice or sexy! Totally CLEAN workbench and ready for the upgrades... I was very fortunate because a good local friend of mine wanted to get rid of those so I was able to get them for a good deal. Then I ordered 11 more sets to make it complete. My car trunk was so full... Then a big box has arrived... Time to build the new sets... At first I was intimidated by amount of work needed to complete but it became easier when I got a better hang of building... using proper tools really helped! I found that a knife with wide angled blade worked best to cut the connecting pieces apart and remove the rest... It really helps to use plenty of paint masking tapes... The instructions said to use q-tip but I found that an old thick WET paintbrush works best to remove excessive wood glue...
Hammering the magnets in was probably the best part! My improved workbench and I am very pleased now... my friend has three more sets for me so it will make the top row complete eventually. Can't wait to make it 100% complete in a week or two!

That is down right impressive. Iโve been eye balling some renovation to my bench as well. You may have given me the inspiration I need.

Always happy to help... we can blame Mike and others again. LOL You can check the site where I ordered the sets from. Best part is that the shop is located right here in Indiana. Good luck! Looks great. I did something similar a while back with those Hobby Zone modular bits. Sure cleans up the workbench.

What are those little yellow egg shaped things in the drawer? Famous silly putty that we use to create camo. I hope they are still good despite being few years old now. LOL

Actually THANK YOU for giving me the motivation and the nudge to make the big move! One thing I really love about this system is that I can change the settings anytime and to remove the tools holder set off and place it closer to me while I am working. I owe you a beer or two...

I wish I could have done this much sooner but I didn't have that kind of money until I received a good offer from my local friend. He is in process of changing from the wood sets to 3D printed sets now and it really looks very nice and futuristic!

I've eyed the Hobby Zone stuff for a while, I'm interested in hearing how it "works" for you after you've had some time to work with it.
Anything you dislike about it?

LOLOLOL! Your comment truly made me laugh out loud!!! I was worried that you would be upset that I removed the Union Jack flag. Don't worry because I will find a new spot for it along with other flags of my favorite European countries as soon as the new workbench is complete. I am very fortunate that I have a full sized basement so there's a lot of space here for my growing stash of model kits. I am sorry about your limited space situation so maybe you can expand the kitchen so it won't be an issue. Maybe I can help you? Why? Because I will be coming to England in August... I definitely will be in touch!

There's not much to dislike about those sets! I would say the only two thing I don't like... first is that it requires a lot of time to build each set especially those with 3 & 6 drawers! I found it to be effective to do three sets at a time so I can take turns to work when the glue is dry enough for next steps. Secondly, they are not that cheap... I consider it an important investment for my hobby so I can keep modeling for many more years. I was very fortunate that my friend has already built 15 sets so I only had to build 11 more sets.

Congrats looks really great and functional Thanks Tony! I still need to add labels to all of the drawers so it will help me locate everything.

Holy smokes Andy!! I may be a bit jealous too given that I work at my dining room table. ๐๐ Those storage units with all the drawers and the racking all looks awesome! And very handy and easy to organize. I love that. Well done, my friend.
