The Duke Finishes Another Tank in November

One more tank got done, just after I'd posted the previous six vehicles, so here it is: my ACE Israeli Centurion Sho't Kal Dalet:











I did this one up in 'Operation Peace for Gallilee' markings. I am now caught up with all the ACE Centurion models finished.

Thank you Tony! I tried to be a bit minimal on the dust, I am practicing light weathering with Tamiya weathering powders to let more of the paint work show through.

Thank you Carlos! Yes, I do love me some Israeli Centurions! I have four completed now: Sho't Meteor, Sho't Kal Alef, Sho't Kal Dalet, and Sho't Kal Gimel.

That's turned out very nicely indeed. A really great finish.

I acquired an Ace Centurion a while back as they WERE the only ones at this scale as far as I know, until Vespid released theirs. And so I'd be VERY interested in how you found it went together?

Thank you Andrew! I haven't built a Vespid Cent yet, so I cannot compare. However, I find that with some careful fitting and constant dry fitting, these ACE tanks go together very well. My biggest gripe I think is the very weak connection points on the axles holding the roadwheels; I was constantly re-gluing broken roadwheels back into place.Sometimes things that don't look like they fit can easily be fixed with some careful and precise sanding. Another issue: ACE instructions can be a challenge to interpret so read, re-read and read them again to be sure you're installing something correctly.
