Aoshima Toyota AE86-Takumi's 86 from initial D

Old build I photographed after switching its display cabinet. So I thought I would share.  I enjoy watching the occasional anime. A favorite of mine, and sort of what got me interested in watching them at all, is initial D. I like cars, and they had such excellent ones in the show and the manga. This car, if you don't know, is sort of the main character. A great little Aoshima kit that went together with no issues and even included some engine detail. This build represents the car after Takumi blew it up and the engine was replaced with the Toyota group A racing engine, but before the addition of the carbon fiber hood. I also have plans to build some more initial D cars.

Initial D is the lords gospel on my car forum. I have never watched an episode though.

Lol, well I don't know about the lords gospel. It is a manga after all. However it is some good escapism for someone such as myself who loves JDM cars. I mean that 8-6 is just awesome, and theres an FC RX-7 that I would love and the sequel, MF Ghost has the protagonist driving a new Toyota GT86. Its fun stuff.

Lol, well I don't know about the lords gospel. It is a manga after all. However it is some good escapism for someone such as myself who loves JDM cars. Yep! My car forum is for the FRS/86/BRZ and they freaked out when MF Ghost came out.

My 2014 Hot Lava FRS that I sold with 120,000 miles on it and my 2020 86GT Hakone Edition (one of only 50 in Canada)

Yep! My car forum is for the FRS/86/BRZ and they freaked out when MF Ghost came out.

Beautiful. I’ve seen it in your avatar of course, but I just love that green.
