marder&sherman 005 by parkadge, on Flickr This Sherman was on my work bench for years waiting for me to paint the crew -it lost various hatches and even some of the running gear. When I stripped the paint from the turret and upper hull I decided it already looked like a burnt out tank so I've decided to finish as a battlefield wreck burnt out sherman 005 by parkadge, on Flickr It had a scratchbuilt rudimentary interior just to show something through the hatches burnt out sherman 019 by parkadge, on Flickr I might revisit and improve the interior- it depends on how much will be visible when finished burnt out sherman 017 by parkadge, on Flickr It did have the partial turret basket of the T23 turret but I've since lost it. The gun breech is from the AFV club M18 IIRC burnt out sherman 012 by parkadge, on Flickr The tarp was from a demo done by Steve Munsell of www.valuegeardetails.com/StowageSets.html on how he uses greenstuff to make traps and stowage, at my local IPMS chapter burnt out sherman 026 by parkadge, on Flickr Managed to get most of the old stowage off. I have ordered a set of Panda burnt out tracks and am going to remove some of the wheels and grind away the tires. I'm looking forward to repainting this all burnt and rusty

Okay I have been working on this. the biggest job was putting together the tracks. I decided to show one side completely burnt out out so I bought the panda burned track set, tiresome but simple enought to put together but that wasn't good enough for me so I decided to add duckbill end connectors and remembered that I had some in a DML M4A4 kit of course they didn't fit which meant I had to drill them out and as there were only enough for one side I had to space them out- (this was done at the time)with ordinary DML end connectors and drill them out as the panda ones are small in comparison. for the unburned side I used the DML tracks 002 by parkadge, on Flickr burntoutsherman 001 by parkadge, on Flickr once the tracks were done the rest was very enjoyable. Still got lots to do but I'm getting there burntoutsherman 002 by parkadge, on Flickr burntoutsherman 003 by parkadge, on Flickr burntoutsherman 004 by parkadge, on Flickr burntoutsherman 005 by parkadge, on Flickr burntoutsherman 006 by parkadge, on Flickr burntoutsherman 007 by parkadge, on Flickr burntoutsherman 008 by parkadge, on Flickr The ground work is not finished and I still have to add some burnt out stowage.

@ John Thanks for the comment @rob thanks- the panda tracks are good but I complicated things for myself by using DML extended end connectors instaed of buying the Panda ones which meant I had to drill them out. One thing about the panda burnt out tracks is that they are a bit wider than ordinary DML tracks so I had to widen the sprocket wheel slightly. Okay more paint and pigment and ground work. I sank the tank into the grounjdwork a little to show it had been sitting there a while. 011 by parkadge, on Flickr 015 by parkadge, on Flickr 017 by parkadge, on Flickr 024 by parkadge, on Flickr 025 by parkadge, on Flickr 035 by parkadge, on Flickr I think that's it. I'm missing a few things like the barrel stowage locking clamp from the turret rear and the aerial but I will add them at some stage when I find them on the workbench workbench by parkadge, on Flickr No I'm not proud of it .

Nice process on the burnt out Sherman! You can always use a metal detector to find the clamp if its metal...

Hey Pat, nothing wrong with the work bench. Just shows that you enjoy building models. You might want to Post a warning for spud before he sees it. We dont want him to have a stroke.... ;D
The Sherman is really taking shape! I like the looks of it!

As someone pointed out on Armorama I had somehow managed to install the right hand tracks back to front. Building shermans years and then this happens Anyway I have now corrected the mistake 004 by parkadge, on Flickr Still have to tweak the weathering of the rebuilt tracks to bring them into line with the rest of the tank
