Ford Tri-Motor

I got this for my birthday this year and I always thought they should be built in a timely manner. This particular aircraft was an island hopper in Lake Erie…but the kit has been repopped over the years with many decal options I think. There were Huskies and Eskimos in my kit! So, I decided they should definitely be used! Here’s a quick vinette i did to use all the kit 👍










This is the Monogram kit. box scale, SCM says about 1/77

Well I absolutely love the Tri motor. Great looking aircraft. You absolutely did this one some serious justice. Magnificent work on this! just beautiful.

What a great turn out this one is Chris. Applying those decals onto that corrugated surface had to be plenty of "fun" I'm guessing....... right? How long did it take you to finish this kit?

Looks like an appropriate build to show today! Love the triplane nmf finish and the diorama fits it perfectly

Nice model and diorama. I need to build this kit again, built it last maybe 60 years ago.

You know the funny part is, the red decals absolutely refused to soften! If i took a closeup you’d see them laying on top of the ribbing lol
I slathered them with microsol for a day, no go! This was a week long project. Had a few days off this week and my wife was working right up to Christmas eve so plenty of modeling time.

You know mine fit together pretty well and the ribbing lined up so i was happy 😃 the windscreen tho needed another 4 hrs of work i’d guess to make it fit lol
