Revell FJ-4B Fury in 1/72

One last required build before i get soley focussed on my aircraft carrier again. The Wright Field Scale Modelers are doing a group build for the region 4 IPMS show next Spring - Built in Ohio is the theme. Amazing how many complete vehicles, aircraft and other vehicles were built here, even some ships…and blimps of course. So this one is my contribution. MCW  metal color lacquer with clear coat applied. An Airwaves PE cockpit came with the 2nd hand kit I got and it was a really nice set. I didn’t even lose any pieces 🤣
Did this weekend madness style , all in 48 hours.














carrier film on these ancient decals was extra wide however, they did lay down nice and respond to solvaset so it was ok. Just a fun build 👍 you gotta love those!

Looks suspiciously like the Matchbox 1/48 kit. I thought only Emhar did the FJ-4B in 1/72. Well done either way!

John the Revell kit is a rebox of the Emhar kit

Man, here I was thinking that it was the 1/48 Matchbox kit. Very nice work. Doubly so for doing that all within 48 hours!

I need a lesson from you on how to apply that tail decal! That looks superb overall

Chris, being 1/48, it was probably easier, but they were probably the best Matchbox decals I have ever used. I built it a long time ago, right now it is in the lower shelf of a display case waiting for me to redo the landing gear because of a hard landing, so to speak..

48 hours?!? Very impressive!!! It takes me 48 hours just to do the tracks of my tanks at my slow pace.
