german Panther D rusted - FINISHED WITH DIORAMA!!!

This is my first tank model.

I used the hairspray technique shown in the videos from scratchmod. The chipping was really funny, but the dusting was very hard in my oppinion. I liked it a bit more before I did the dusting effects.

I hope you like it. A dio will follow soon...

Well in my opinion this looks fantastic and very realistic. the dust weathering is not too overdone and adds the right touch and character to the Panther. Job well done, and it's your first....wow

I have one question, would you add the german cross on it? I have forgotten to put on any decal when I startet chipping. So I consider to paint them now on the rusty tank or not. I`m afraid that I will ruin the rust effect... maybe?

Otherwise it will look more realistic, isn`t it?

My vote would be to leave it alone...the lack of markings just adds to the forlorn/abandoned/wrecked feel of it IMHO. Very well done!

As Bill I think it's best to leave the balkenkreuz off, it just looks amazing this way!

That is grade-AAA stunningly good.

Regarding the cross, I use brass stencils with my airbrush and they can be worn back real good.

I think if you add crosses and other markings it would take away from the look. I think that the paint has rusted way past the markings on top of what would have been your base or camo colors.
Now, I hope that you have spoken to your maintenance crew about their lack of responsibility keeping this Panther up to standards.

Seriously thought, Outstanding job, it looks sweet and I think you've hit the bulls eye.

Like the most of you said, I have decided to leave off the Balkenkreuz. But I was not lazy the last days. I built the tracks of the Panther - what a f... s***!!!
I used a plastic track from tamiya, where you have to glue every single part together.

I was not sure, how to paint a rusted tank track. But I hope you like it...
