I built that Fujimi kit in 1971 or 72, when I was visiting in laws in Texas.

WOW, that Fujimi kit is from the Paleozoic model era! I built it when I was in middle school, in the late 1970s. It will be like night and day compared to the HB kit. Are you planning on leveling up the two kits with all that aftermarket?

That there is an epic endeavor Chris. What a load-O-AM. I'm quite excited to see how your vintage Fujimi comes out. This is going to be a lot of fun for sure. Bookmarked and following.

Those old Fujimi kits are fun, if not so accurate. I have the fujimi 1/48 109g/k. Good luck with your build!

Sometimes, resurrecting those old kits can bring them to life rather nicely. Years ago I picked up Tamiya's 1/48 Raiden for about $9 US. I had a blast with it, tried out several new techniques, and it turned out rather well.
Cheers Dave

thechaosWow, after so many years, I finally see another Fujimi 190-D being built! 👍 I bought that kit long ago (early 1990s) and knew nothing about it. The kit did require a lot of massaging to get it looking "better". I'm looking forward to seeing your model come to life! 😃
Here's a peek at my Fujimi Fw-190-D:

I'm really liking all of the additions to the cockpit and separate control surfaces on the wings and tail fin Chris. Like Dave mentioned, it's nice to see these old kits get some good attention from some skillful hands. Looking good so far buddy.

This is coming together really nice! Are the resin control surfaces fitting fairly decent or are you having to work at it? I have the Black Dog set for mine and so far measurements look promising before I start to cut.

Thanks, and the fit of the parts are so la la: the Wings are the wrong dimensions, and the control surfaces are too big, i must fill the wings with plastic and putty. It is a lot of filling and sanding.
