For tire marks you are going to want to just be very subtle. I would just give some swooping curved sections in the high traffic areas a light wash. Stay right away from actual lines as in that scale you just wouldn't see distinct tracks. Just picture what this would look like from about 300 feet above. Notice how the traffic areas are sort of a blotchy darker pattern and not individual track marks.

Ok great pic and example! I decided from that perspective that just a dark grey pastel chalk would be effective and dusted it over the travel areas. What do you guys think, pretty good?
