Hard call. This would look cool as a rusted out old field queen but also could be a perfect finish show car. Interested in the direction you take.

So it will be a rusty vehicle because I don't have the stuff to make it nice and shiny. Besides a few nice rims, I am still missing some stuff such as different seats and a different engine block. The grey stuff are weldseams and just looking at the backdoor I thin that I replace that by a smaller version. Not completely ready yet because some dents still need to be added. The little bars are there to correct my mistake

Sweet! I’m liking how this is looking already. All in for a rusty old delivery van.

A scrapyard near where I used to work had an old very late 40s or early 50s panel truck out front for years, and years. It was completely rusted out with zero paint left and somebody way back in the past had started to work on it and then just abandoned it. What you have done so far looks JUST LIKE IT!

Here in the Netherlands I will not easily find a heavily rusted classic car at the scrap yard. I think most of the cars are from the 1970s to the present. My intention is a rusted one, but with still enough paint on it and perhaps still a weathered advertisement.

I am liking where this is going! Your description of rusted but still having paint on it describes 80% of the cars I have ever owned

I had to start over again because the hairspray technique completely failed. Because I was not a fan of this technique anyway and to be honest, I have never done large surfaces with rust. So no disaster, I threw the model into the Dasty and it was clean again after an hour. Today I primed it and sprayed some colors on it and a few spots with a brush.

John, Dasty is a cleaning product, better said, a degreaser :-) I usually use it to remove the paint (acrylic) and I also use it in my ultrasonic cleaner and it costs almost nothing.

I really like where you're headed with this Ron. An interesting approach with all the different colors and am looking forward to seeing how this all pans out. I've never heard of the Dasty product before but after looking it up on the internet it's got stuff like BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE and BENZYL ALCOHOL in it. Stuff would strip just about anything with that stuff in it. lol

Alcohol is always good LOL, but it is indeed a strong substance that Dasty. As for Ford, I'm also curious how it will end.

Patience my friend LOL The 1/9 Crocker is currently the top priority to finish after almost a year. Do I ever understand THAT brother. That dang Vette that I was working on took me a little over 9 months to get done. I'll be looking in on that Crocker build Ron.
