Figured I'd start a thread so I was ready whenever I get cracking on it. Which should be soon.

Man. I have not seen an Entex box in the stores since JC Penny closed up here in Hawaii in the 1980s! They had a really interesting, eclectic kit range. I noticed a lot of the really old "super sized" kits were pretty well done, considering their vintage. Good luck on your build, and I will watch with interest to see how this old mare builds up!

As such, the quality is usually pretty solid. Even though they are old. This kit is a big old bear, but it looks pretty nice still. Thank you for your interest!

That actually makes sense as to why they are so nice looking for their age. Bandai was way ahead of the game back then. Or maybe they just borrowed them and gave them back. But yeah, those guys at Bandai sure knew what they were doing even back then. I’m not familiar with their pin point series but it doesn’t surprise me after seeing their 1/16 scale autos.

Entex might have been an importer, like Minicraft, reboxing other maker's kits. They had some pretty epic kits though - the 1/100 Boeing 747 comes immediately to mind. I wonder who made their 1/144 B-1A kit?

All the builds you have on your bench it amazes me you can get to as many as you do I don’t know why I do it to myself but when I’ve got the time at the bench I want to be building so if stuff needs to sit I just put it the side and grab the next project lol. I can't wait to see this one moving forward. What an interesting kit/subject. Thank you! I hope I can do it justice.

Of course I bookmarked this; this is a great project in the making! What's your method for choosing a subject? There's quite a range here! My Dad put himself through engineering school as a mechanic so there was quite an odd range of cars that would show up on weekends. I kind of feel that happening here in your "garage." One week it's a hot rod, next week it's American muscle and then there's... this! Cheers.
