1/48 Hasegawa Fw190A-4 (Completed page 3)

I made a start on my entry for the GB. Adding a Quinta Studio cockpit set and Aeromaster decals for Oblt. Hans Mohr II./JG.1 technical officer. I like the Tatzelwurm. This is my second 190 from JG.1




Still have to add the levers on the IP.   I think I'm going to like these 3D cockpits

Oh darn, now I'm tempted to get a 3-D cockpit set for my 190!  That's cross-contamination for ya.  It's like cooties in kindergarten, one kid brings it in, and pretty soon everyone has it!

Shoot, I need to pay attention to this one. I ordered a Quinta set, but it wasn't in stock, so I'm hopeful it shows up at some point this year. Supposedly they have an order in so we shall see.

Quinta doesn't make one for the A-4.  But the A-4 and A-3 are the same thing

They do now, as I've ordered it. Probably just a rebranding of the A-3 set. However it was supposed to be in stock already and I haven't gotten an update so no doubt they are behind. Oh well, I will either get it or I won't. May try to source the A-3 set as I'd like to try them out.

I haven't built one of these Hasegawa Fw190's John but I've heard alot of good things about them. Like Carlos said, this should be good!

They are very nice. Built this A-5 a few years ago

Reviewing the kit - how do you manage to not snap off the guns & pitot when assembling?!?!

I wait until the end. Its not that hard to modify for the attachment

Okay I caved and ordered the Quinta Studios stuff. TJ - did you put the console decals direct on the tub or on the inserts (B1 & B2) and then glue the inserts to the tub?

Those 3D printed decals by Quinta Studio are so awesome! I finally got to order one for mine... thanks for the reminder! LOL

Excellent start TJ. I've already got my Quinta set for my 1/72 Ta-152. It will be my first try at them. Got you bookmarked and ready to follow along.

I'm doing  a Hasegawa not Tamiya

The fuselage is closed up. Always amazes me how little you can see of the IP on a Fw190

Coming on very nicely.....as you say it's almost a shame that all those lovely 3D decals will be largely be hidden.

  Yeah, they've got 'em tucked up in there pretty snuggly alright. I still detail 'em out but like you said, next to nothing can be seen of either panel with one being recessed under the shroud and the lower one tucked up under and forward of the top IP.

Moving along great! A pilot friend had a chance to sit in a 190 and a 109. He said the cockpits were so small they were like "putting the airplane on" not getting into them

Looking good, TJ! I love the Quinta sets. They look better than PE and are much easier to use. They definitely speed up the process. Not sure where most people are getting them but I get them from Hobbynut. They tell you when they are expected to be in if out of stock which is nice.
