This came in the mail today and i just couldn’t help starting it. Looks to be a simple, short, build. This will be for the wright field scale modelers collection build. We’re doing it for ipms regionals in March, the theme is Built in Ohio. I have sanded all the raised details off and used black CA to lock it together and eliminate the seems. Surprising how yellowed this plastic got with age. It wasn’t noticeable until i sanded the 1st half. Check this out then all together and everything sanded and flash cleaned up. Maybe some painting tomorrow 🤔

I have yet to see one of these built so I will be watching for more of this one. The plastic being like that I hope the decals aren't like potato chips

Yep that’s it 👍 So far just your normal flash on the kit, although on the structure for mooring the nose that’s still alot of trimming to do! I’ll have to take a poc of the rear glass tonight. It was a comical fit 🤣 the side glass fits great but i’ll use clear window film maker instead anyway. May need some ideas on how to do that, or something else entirely, for the rear glass which looks like it was a set of entry doors of all things. Haven’t found a picture of the rear of the gondola yet to figure out what it’s supposed to be.

WOW... Never knew kits like this were out there! I'll be following along. You know me either. If the group hadn’t decided on this Ohio build I would have gone on with life oblivious to them. It’s actually prrtty nice. I’ll get some close ups of the parts tonight to share.

It’s actually prrtty nice. I’ll get some close ups of the parts tonight to share. Glenco Models come from an age when they were more toys than accurate representation of the real thing. They have some weird scales since they were mostly "box scale" kits. That said they are not horrible kits just basic. What else they have though are some very, VERY rare and unusual subjects. I built their 1/52 scale (not 1/48 as advertised) J2F-2 and it came out OK as long as you don't look in the canopy. I will grab any Glenco kit I ever come across just for the weirdness of some of the subject matter.

Here’s what that glass looked like I did some trim of the plastic so maybe i can use some filler tomorrow. More to come I would deal with that by removing the "clear", wrapping a piece of clear, light, blister pack material around it and making up a frame for the edges.
