41chevy: That looks like one sweet deal on a great reference book Paul. Funny what we can find and when we least expect it. Medicman71: Those should compliment those Hornet builds of yours VERY well Mike. Great score!!

I've been wanting to build a Messerschmitt Bf110 since I was a kid. I started building an Eduard 110 around 10 years ago and realized quickly that I was in too deep for my skill level at that time and although I think I could build an Eduard these days.....I'm just not looking forward to the complexities of that kit (those of you who may have built one of those know exactly what I'm talking about). So.....I chose the Monogram/ Hasegawa kit as the kit of choice to pull this off.....along with a couple of extra goodies. Be looking for this one in the foreseeable future.

I certainly enjoyed the Monogram 110 kits (410 also). It's been over 20 years since I built them and they reside in a landfill somewhere now. I do have an Eduard 110, chillin' (collecting dust) in the 1/48 stash. I don't recall exactly what the issues were...but I can say their 1/72 kits are GREAT! (I've done 10 or so!)

Not sure what problems you ran into with the 1/48 Eduard kit, I've built two and they was both great kits, not shake and bake like Tamiya kits but no problems to make them unbuildable.

My son scooped this baby up from comic book store clearance bin for $20. Is a 1/9 scale kit from 1991. Bags still sealed inside! It will be a fun build.

Morning all So a few purchases/arrivals this week! ATB Andrew ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- So first some metal barrels for my recent AFV purchases: Next up these two from my local model shop, which specialises in RC kits - especially planes - but also has a reasonable range of kits. I have decided not to do my original FW190 Red 2 in winter camo as it will nominally be flying in the summer, plus I have hacked it about it. So I have been looking around for another one for while, so I could do it properly....this version of the kit has though have been out of production for years and online the cheapest delivered I could find it online was £14. However, I then saw my local shop had it in stock for only £9. So after a five minute walk down to the shop - it's that close - it was in my hands. When picking up the 190 I also saw this for £10 but obviously didn't have to worry about P&P.....I have two others in the stash, having really enjoyed one I've built previously (which broke beyond repair), so I can now do all three versions allowed for by the kit. And finally this. Junior's Churchills are from 6th Guard Tank Brigades and so I have always wanted to know more about the unit. This is actually a 'reprint' by Naval & Military Press of a book originally published in 1946. I have another one of their reprints of a very old book and in both case they don't appear to be a reprint in the traditional way. Rather I think they obtain a very good quality original and take very high quality images of the pages and do it that way - certainly the font and layout are not modern and the text doesn't look like it's actually been printed in the traditional way. I'm not that fussed about having an original, especially as this was about half the price of the cheapest original.

I've started an Eduard 110 years ago and maybe it was the thought of opening this beautiful bird up and all the extra work that would have to be done in which to do so AND deal with all of the extra stuff that Eduard puts into that kit. The thought process was to go with a wee bit more simple kit, in this case a Revellogawa, so I could concentrate the efforts on opening one up.
