So, I was lucky enough to pick this up for pretty cheap. And the Enzo isn't my favorite Ferrari ever but it looked like a cool kit. I have decided to build it for a Youtube group build where the theme is Naked Models. So no paint or clear coat, but you can use any of the foils, decals or markers you want. Basically the thought was build it as you did when you were a kid or like you could throw everything in the box and build it anywhere at all. I thought this sounded like fun, so I jumped in with this. With that being said this will be a quick and mostly pain free build, I hope. And I have a start on the engine. A touch of black marker, chrome marker on the velocity stacks and silver sharpie picking out details on the pulley system. One bank of exhaust is drying and I'll do the other tomorrow. More soon.

I heard about this GB. The concept is pretty cool. Sounds like it would be a great slump buster concept. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out.

If you wouldn't have detailed what you painted and detailed this engine with I would have never guessed markers. The chrome on the headers and velocity stacks look great

That chrome marker looks excellent. Thank you! Obviously not how I would normally approach this but I’m enjoying it. I heard about this GB. The concept is pretty cool. Sounds like it would be a great slump buster concept. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out. I think it is a fun concept. And you’re right, if you were struggling it might be fun to do one of these to break you out of it. Thank you! If you wouldn't have detailed what you painted and detailed this engine with I would have never guessed markers. The chrome on the headers and velocity stacks look great Thank you! I can’t take credit for the exhaust. It’s molded in that truly excellent Tamiya flat chrome that they use on a lot of their sports car kits. It’s almost perfect as is.

I discussed an idea of a GB like this with Joe back when I first started on this forum. Would call it the "Build it like you were 8". Be very simple ground rules of only basic tools, no airbrushes allowed and limited to maybe 3 colours of paint. People would need to choose their kits very carefully. Sort of like when I did this based on a thread over at FSM. modelerssocialclub.proboards.com/thread/13957/tamiya-ton-truck-flak-gun

I’m having a blast just sticking this thing together so far and will try to polish out the plastic too

That's a clever idea. And you are off to a great start. It also gives me an idea about getting the kid started. I never thought about just using paint pens.

Yeah....I'm in. Thank you! I'm having fun with it as a quick project. That's a clever idea. And you are off to a great start. It also gives me an idea about getting the kid started. I never thought about just using paint pens. Thanks! I never would have thought of doing something like this either if it weren't for the GB. But it really is fun and a challenge to get creative and still make things look good. Would be a fun way to get a new builder into the hobby.

Looking fantastic Kyle! The cat that joins me when I'm working usually hops right on top of whatever assembly is on my bench sending it scattering everywhere

Not the first time I have had some parts trapped by a furry friend. And they love to leave their hairs in my paint work as well. lol. Just part of my builds Your engine looks spectacular! Thank you very much! I can only thank Tamiya for their excellent detail.

Coming along nicely. How did you do the lettering on the brake calipers. It looks perfect.

And they’re very fragile. Two disintegrated even after some decal fix was applied so the rears don’t have any. lol. I’m hoping the others are in better shape.

Hard to believe no paint has been used. :^) Hard to believe no paint has been used. :^) Thanks for stopping by guys. And I can hardly believe it myself!! I also think I accidentally picked the perfect model to build without paint. lol. Tamiya did a great job with this one choosing which color styrene to make each piece.

The Naked Models 2023 build rolls across the finish line. What a blast I had building this one. Hope you all enjoyed. More Glamour shots to be found in the "under glass" section. Here is the completed thread...https://modelerssocialclub.proboards.com/thread/15717/tamiya-enzo-ferrari-giallo-modena
