Gents, and the few Ladies,
I really don't want to sound like I'm sniveling, whining, or belly achin, cause I ain't, but I'm finding it difficult to keep up with all the builds, group builds, or anything else but the most recent posts, and even that is a task to behold. I recon I'm not alone, but this is not a bad thang, not at all.
It's great to see all the incredible work from FORD's (Joe), to even Chevies, from Shermies to Tigers, from F-190's to Star Fighters, from 1/35th and the 1/16th Beasts of the Battle Field and to my passion,.... figures. Pretty dang impressive, yall, keep it up, this is fun!
"Sniffin paint and gluin them fingers together" is what it's all about. So, if yall got the same impression I do, Ruck On Bby, it ain't so bad!
Cheer, Ski.

If you don't get to the bottom of page two of Recently Updated Threads you will be missing new stuff!

Yeah, between the time I stop checking in here before bed, and the time I check back in again the next morning, there is usually at least two pages of posts to go thru here on a daily basis. And then more accumulate as the day goes on. This place IS ACTIVE/BUSY!!!

And then more accumulate as the day goes on. This place IS ACTIVE/BUSY!!! Which is a great thing. What I do is bookmark everything that is interesting to me, or at least sounds interesting. Some of I dont read, because well I dont need to. I dont like EVERYTHING, so I dont need to be involved in it all. Every now and then I poke into something new and maybe I gain a new interest, maybe I learn something new. Or maybe I dont. Either way, I love all the activity.

I definitely agree with you. Like others have said, it’s a good thing! Majority of us have work, family, and other task that eat up majority of our day. Not enough time or energy to review and reply to every single thread. Especially on days like today where work was extremely busy, I got home late, and my son had a rough time falling asleep.
Typically I’ll review the 1st page of recent threads and either like or comment on things that catch my attention. Like Project510 said, not every build is someone’s cup of tea. I personally have little interest in the auto side of modeling. That doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate an incredible build when I see one; but it does mean I typically don’t go out of my way to checkout all the builds in said category.
If you are overwhelmed, then take a step back. There’s nothing wrong with only posting on your own builds and interacting with the community there!

You are definitely not alone Steve. And it is indeed a good problem to have as far as the forum being healthy and vibrant.
I will expand on this more when I get off work.

I know I post more build updates than the average but that mainly due to my set up. My build desk, computer and lightbox for pics are all right in front of or immediately beside me. I literally build on top of my keyboard most of the time. Since I usually take loads of pictures as I build to check for things not seen by the naked eye and I am right there I may as well post them up. Even then if I go without posting an update for a day or two the thread can be bumped back three or four pages meaning that even people that are interested may never even see it unless they go way back in the history. This is compounded even more with completed builds where it is not brought to the top by comments. I must admit that it can be a bit disconcerting to have your current pride and joy that you want to share end up with 4 or 5 comments and then be regulated to page 12 in 3 days so it is never seen again even by people you KNOW would have liked it. As Steve so eloquently put it in his opening I am not "sniveling, whining, or belly achin" just observing my sentiments. The high traffic and thread turnover is the sign of a healthy forum so such things can be expected and are far better than the alternative where your posts can sit near the top for days on end (this is what it was like here when I started in March) and ever single person on the forum comments because there is no other activity. It is also a really good indicator as to the social aspect of this forum since sometimes the conversation can veer of track a bit beyond the standard "nice job" posts you see on many other forums. In summary I would rather have too much activity at the expense of some exposure than no activity and have everybody that is here see something.

I use the heck outta the bookmark function...however that section of my sign ing is like 2pages long. Oh well, I also really like a busy forum, if someone sees my comment or picture great if not......it ain't the end of the world. Question? Can a person add pictures to a PM? That might help getting picture to specific person then ya best of both worlds.

I have to agree. The activity here recently is insane!! And I love it. I’m ok if my threads get pushed to the bottom. And I love pretty well anything to do with the hobby so I enjoy going through the recent threads and seeing so much different stuff. This place is just awesome.

Yes we have to try to keep up,and try to build an actual model once in awhile 🤭 Exactly. I can't keep up either, so I do a quick scan and see what catches the eye. But I know I'm missing out on some great stuff. In the end, I have to walk away anyway. If I don't, I'll never get anything built. And isn't that a big reason we're all here? The comradery and education are an added bonus!

I agree, the amount of stuff on here is mind blowing. Seeing what goes into some of the builds makes me question my own commitment at times !!!! But there is so much to learn from, ideas and techniques to copy, bring it on gents!

This place has exceeded every expectation that the few of us had when we started all of this in October of 2022. When we first got together we were kicking around the idea of what it would be like if we did actually pull this whole thing off and get this forum up and going full speed again. We didn't put a number on it or anything like that in regard to post activity or contributing members but we sure didn't see THIS coming. I mean....we were hopeful and all but it was like the whole thing just kinda took off. The whole staff is just thankful to the members for their part in this forums current success and I'm really looking forward to 2024. Got a few cool things in store for the year.

Just my opinion here, when you put no value or benchmark to reach it tends to relieve stress of "meeting expectations" and simply going with the flow, tweaking as needed when needed. You Mods IMO do an amazing job keeping this place clean and fresh. I can't imagine having a full time job plus trying to maintain a hopping website. That said the fact that it is running smoothly speaks volumes to the quality of people who are here. This feels like a banquet room full of friends where ya just go from table to table and enjoy the company....seems to be a buffet reference in here somewhere. In the age of tech, catching up is only a click away.

It's not just you, Steve! I've been struggling to find time to get here daily...and when I do, I'm so far behind, it gets a bit overwhelming.
Let's not discuss what the recent rash of high-powered wind storms has done to my bench time. Ugh.

In the age of tech, catching up is only a click away. It helps to have a good number of staff on hand Perry so no one person has to do everything. Alot of the staff has each other's phone contact so we'll talk regularly about forum improvements, what's working and what's not and things of that sort. This has been a good journey so far, I can say that. Additionally, you guys make it A LOT easier to manage and work this forum since there is no drama here. An occasional spammer maybe but no drama.
