Just my opinion here, when you put no value or benchmark to reach it tends to relieve stress of "meeting expectations" and simply going with the flow, tweaking as needed when needed. You Mods IMO do an amazing job keeping this place clean and fresh. I can't imagine having a full time job plus trying to maintain a hopping website. That said the fact that it is running smoothly speaks volumes to the quality of people who are here. This feels like a banquet room full of friends where ya just go from table to table and enjoy the company....seems to be a buffet reference in here somewhere. In the age of tech, catching up is only a click away. It helps to have a good number of staff on hand Perry so no one person has to do everything. Alot of the staff has each other's phone contact so we'll talk regularly about forum improvements, what's working and what's not and things of that sort. This has been a good journey so far, I can say that. Additionally, you guys make it A LOT easier to manage and work this forum since there is no drama here. An occasional spammer maybe but no drama.

It's not just you, Steve! I've been struggling to find time to get here daily...and when I do, I'm so far behind, it gets a bit overwhelming. Let's not discuss what the recent rash of high-powered wind storms has done to my bench time. Ugh. Yeesh!! How high is the wind where you're at Marc? I'm not sure what the actual number was. Accuweather was throwing around 55 or 60 mph, which shouldn't be TOO bad, until you couple it with a bunch of wet snow or freezing rain. Power lines don't like that so much. On Wednesday this week we had some coastal towns basically wash away...I'll try to find a link. Luckily for us (heavy sarcasm alert), there's another almost identical storm coming tomorrow morning! Easiest thing to do is google "Maine storm damage 2024", you'll find a plethora of articles, pics, and videos. The sad part is that this is when I'm supposed to be getting in a huge chunk of my annual build time. Hard to do when you have no power for days at a time.

Believe me, I've done plenty of work the past couple weeks wearing a headlamp in my warehouse. And adding up hand-written invoices by hand. Less than ideal!

If it were cold, this would all be snow, which would be a lot easier to deal with. Snow can be plowed or shoveled. www.accuweather.com/en/us/ellsworth/04605/daily-weather-forecast/333490

Hang in there bud.

Me too. I just found this after 4 days and I've been trying to get at least half way through the first page twice a day and I feel I'm not seeing nearly enough. Like I tell peeps when I ask them to come over. This place is "poppin". It's a good thing.

I hop on periodically throughout the day while I’m working. Just on my phone to see if I’m missing anything. Checked this morning and I was mostly caught up. Now there are almost 2 pages in the recent threads again!! You guys are awesome.

The icing on this cake is that as busy as this place gets, you see absolutely NO negativity. That’s just great! And it speaks volumes about the folks on here who post regularly. You guys all rock in my book.👍

You are definitely not alone Steve. And it is indeed a good problem to have as far as the forum being healthy and vibrant. I will expand on this more when I get off work. You must be still at work. Joe??!! Yeah...no...I was ...but, I'm not...Aww heck I just forgot.

Funny thing is that Joe and I just had a discussion about this just the other day. Timely observation and thread.
I feel that what is important is that folks are not only acknowledging how busy MSC has become, but are also accepting that fact. I know that sometimes I get a bit frustrated with not being able to stay caught up with all of the excellent activity going on here. In fact, this was the very reason I was very hesitant to accept a moderator position when Joe offered it to me. I knew that I would be unable to keep up with the majority of the posts. Yet, I realized that it is okay. One can't reasonably keep up with it all on a forum as busy as this one. It is in fact a wholly collective effort by all members. Staff and members alike. So, I do thank everyone for doing your part large or small. It all matters.
I do want to point out that I think everyone is doing a marvelous job on greeting and welcoming new members. To me, these are the most important posts to respond to. Every new member should be acknowledged and made to feel welcome and comfortable. Kudos to everyone on that point.

We get the same sort of problems here, but usually during the summer monsoon. So we set up a generator plumbed into our natural gas line for a remedy... All set for the zombie apocalypse here

Hen at the cottage for the weekend I have limited and very intermittent internet so tend to fall a bit behind. This weekend I apparently fell way, way, behind and now am trying to get caught up. I don't think I can!

Well, I was almost caught up to some degree, but then I went on vacation and now; it's impossible. I love it! For those who like to see what I'm doing; at least I try to make it easier to keep up with my work by keeping all my WIPs in one big thread. Generally you can tell when something is gonna be finished too, but hey; I'm just a small fish here. This is the best place ever!

Well I definitely struggle to keep up, although sometimes I don't post for long periods, because either I have not been at the bench, or I've got very little to show for my time there. It leaves me feeling a bit guilty because I'm not building, so I don't check in.
