One more of my more recent builds that seems to get quite a lot of attention is my Johan 1968 Olds 442 W-30.
Those of you who are aware know that this kit is extremely rare, especially in kit form.
The promos can be found occasionally, but the kit has become nearly impossible to find.
I was lucky enough to score this re-builder in a trade with a European gentleman, and promptly began merging it with a good number of the parts from the MPC '69 442 to create this W-30 package.
Chassis, engine bay, some of the interior, and a portion of the engine came from that kit.
As has become my MO, the interior was cut apart and completely re-vamped with all new trim, window cranks, arm rests, etc, etc.
This project was also my first attempt at creating a multi-piece air cleaner assembly, which has begun to become a trade mark on some of my builds.
The body is finished in correct '68 Olds "Cinnamon Bronze" from Scale Finishes, with an added vinyl top, painted stripes, and saddle interior.
Thanks for looking!
This was what I received, and the starting point for this project.

Another very nice build. I will enjoy watching you put together some WIP's. You have a great deal of skills to share with others.

Yup.....this is the one that I've been waiting for alright. A magnificent finish up from every single angle on this build and one of my very favorites out of you Steve ( goofy62 ). The details man......the details!! I really don't think you forgot anything on this one and it really doesn't get much better than that brother. Just blown..... .away every time I see it.

This is simply astonishing work! I don’t even have the words. The color choices, the perfect vinyl roof, another set of immaculate steelies and a gorgeous interior. Thank you for sharing. It’s a beauty.

The fabrication you put into dissecting that air cleaner to display the separate pieces is just mind blowing Steve.

There is a W30 parked in storage a few miles from me where I used to store cars for the winter. You absolutely nailed the look of this car.

Looks real. Excellent work sir.
Long ago I got to drive one of these that had been built for the strip. It had 525 horses available and I had to be very careful as it wanted to leave the road sideways in corners
