I'll throw this last one at you for now, and then I have to get back into the shop and get some work done!
This Rare Johan 1965 Plymouth Fury street machine was completed some years ago, but is still one of my favorites, as well as some viewer's
There are only a few things that keep this model out of the factory stock category.
#1: The fact that the model was produced by Johan with a Fury III body, but a "Sport Fury" interior.
#2: The addition of of the "Max Wedge", "Super Stock" 426 engine, which was not an option in 1965.
#3: The addition of the Torque Thrust wheels and white lettered tires, and the removal of the fender skirts.
Otherwise, it's basically stock, and utilizes many parts from numerous other kits, as well as some scratch building and modifying.
Again, the interior tub was cut apart and the obligatory convertible top mechanism wells were removed, and the door panels re-configured to represent a hard top interior.
Other features include a nearly completely scratch built engine bay, with torsion hood springs.
Thanks for looking!

The real thing should look so good. Hope those carbs don't backfire!

I have a set of air cleaners included with the model, but I usually display it without.
Seems a shame to cover up those beautiful Fireball carbs.

Outstanding as always Steve. One of the things I admire about your builds (other excellent craftsmanship) is that they are always tastefully executed. Just the right color schemes. This one is no exception.

That's one of my favorite parts of a build.
Looking at factory chip sheets and picking out the color that grabs me the most.
Not always the "most Popular" colors, but colors that I just envision the car wearing.

Dang it Steve! I've never seen this one from you. I just love your interior details and engine bay work and you're right about not covering those beautiful carburetors with an air cleaner. I always make the air cleaners removable for just the same reason. This is such a good lookin' build and thank you for sharing it with us buddy.

I hear you. Lately I’ve been into building cars that might not have the most popular options or colors. Like taking a ‘70 Z28 and turning it into a Rally Sport and leaving off all the spoilers and stripes. Same concept applies to the GTX you offered me advice on. I get tired of seeing everyone go for the top of the line model with all the trimmings. That’s still cool, but I want to build something different from the crowd. Sorry, I’m getting sidetracked. We now return to your normally scheduled program, already in progress.👍

I agree.
I feel the same way about choosing colors.
There's nothing wrong with "Plum Crazy" or "Sublime" on a '70 Challenger, or "B-5 Blue" on a '69 Roadrunner, but you get a little tired of seeing them all of the time.
Contrary to what appears to be popular belief, these cars came in a whole lot more colors, that might not have been as flashy, but your model will be much more unique if you build your '70 Challenger in "Y-3 Cream" or "T-6 Dark Tan", or your '69 Roadrunner in "W-1 Alpine White".

Another exceptionally nice build. I love the color choices. The torque thrusts are a tasteful choice for the wheels as well. Beautiful interior and engine work as well. Amazing work.

You know, it’s not very cool trying to pass off actual cars as 1:24 scale models.

I think you nailed the perfect color for this Fury. This build is drop dead gorgeous! It looks like you are somewhere fairly close to me seeing a Pantowners trophy and NordicCon

Steve, love it AGAIN!. What is your paint of choice, and do you use clear coat on all your builds?

I use mostly MCW, or Scale Finishes paint, with an occasional Duplicolor solid color paint.
Yes, I clear coat, cut, and polish all of my models.
I feel that it gives a more realistic scale finish over a standard "spray and leave it" finish.
Just me.
