This year I am going to clear my shelf of shame. This will be a quick one. This was mostly assembled last year. It is a Das Werk kit but really an Amusing Hobby kit. Kit wasn't really very good. The welds that are on the kit are not at the plastic part joints but 90 degrees off. The weld bead was also comically out of scale. It would have been about an inch tall. Real vehicle had almost invisible welds anyway so I removed them. The tool boxes weren't very good so I scratched some lids out of brass sheet and added some locks off an old kit. Also added a 3d printed tool clamps for the shovel. It is a small kit so every derail you can add helps.

I tried something completely different paint wise with this kit. I watch a lot of Warhammer painting videos and Tovarian did a a video of his version grimdark and I really liked it, so I thought I would give it a try on a vehicle. This is all done by brush. I primed in black and gave it a coat of AK dark green. I then stippled and sponged olive green. Added some highlights and stipled some more. There are no washes on this right now, just paint.

It is not meant to be historically accurate.

And why not? The ever inventive Krauts may have actually done something like this assuming they could get their hands on the paint. Visual appeal is up there fella I think it looks great

That paint job looks sweet. I imagine that technique would be also great for a whitewashed vehicle.

This looks amazing. This is perfect for adding to a dio to give more life to typical scenes we all have seen. Very cool.

I actually have a kit on the shelf that I will try this on.

It will still need to have hairspray chipping done first and then most of it removed.
This technique does not get into recessed areas very well.
So my plan is to use hairspray chipping for the recessed areas and then stippling the rest of the whitewash on.

This will really be nothing new. I believe in the past they called it mapping.
