The commando car is a cool little kit. I built it a while ago...

The commando car is a cool little kit. I built it a while ago... Regardless of it's age I don't think you can go too far wrong with any version of this kit. It is simply one of the classics.

This is the 2001 release of the venerable Italeri Jeep kit. It is hard to believe that this nice little kit started life way back in 1980! This is a 15 or 16 year old shelf queen of mine so no build pics. It will be going in a Korean War MASH med evac diorama and will get dirtied up at that point. Other than a couple of ammo boxes and a spare pack it is right out of the box. I left the shovel and axe off because 99% of the pictures of the Jeep ambulances I found of the era did not have them mounted. Great little kit and I recommend it. This will look perfect in your MASH diorama! I'm looking forward to seeing that come together soon

That is just top notch! Looks so good. Thanks. It will still get some dust and dirt once I decide on the colour soil for the base. Looks like it will probably be stock kitty litter colour which makes things easy.

Be done the P-61 probably tomorrow and it is next in line to finish. Likely all done by Saturday night.

I can't wait to see a MASH diorama. Your ambulance jeep looks excellent.

I don't know if there is model rail hobby shop near you, but they make "ballast" in fine, medium, and coarse grades in different colors that are carried by such shops and will work great for that stuff.

I will just use my normal clumping kitty litter for the main surface but will have to paint it a bit to break up the tones. Will have to source some larger stones to do the perimeter. Since the chopper will be to the rear of the display I will only be doing a partial circle with a good part of it leading off the base.
